So i am getting remarried in a few months and she's a dandy gal. She loves the outdoors, shooting, scuba diving...and is a real sweetheart. To the point; she wants a firearms themed wedding reception. The center pieces on the tables are going to be flower arrangements, with fired bullets being the flowers. I need some ideas one which bullets to purchase that will flower nicely when shot into a barrel of water, with distinct petals, and will not just mushroom. Any ideas? I am most likely looking at 45s because of size but 50's are a possibility too. Maybe mix them up with different sizes like 9mm and differnt bullets with more or less petals, I don't know. I am looking forward to the project, I think it will be fun. And actually might cost less than real flowers:D

Also can't decide between 1911s or miniature m1 Garands on the cake.

You should requisition THR members to help in the procurement of said flowers.

Can take push pins (cut the head off) and hot glue cases onto them to pin things up as needed.

Or, cut brass to hide a nail holding up a picture on the wall.

Cut brass to make hat clips or bottle openers.

I think Hydra-Shoks may be the best petal to shoot into a barrel of water.
Midway has .358 Golden Sabres on sale if you you reload and they look good in the end.

YouTube or Lucky gunner should have lots of gel test to show you other possible bullet expansions.

Buck is making the Remington bullet knives again for a best man gift. Need to look carefully though to get the USA made current ones.

Well I more than willing to do that, if any one wants to donate some fired flower projectiles send em my way!

My wife made wedding cakes for a couple of years. She did a wedding for a couple of deer hunters. The main cake had edible antlers on top, the groom's cake (all edible also) was a little more specific to hunting.

You have a great idea, but having everything edible might keep the event a little closer to the upbeat, joyous occasion you really would like to share with all your friends.

Think about it.

Speer God Dots are the ones that come to mind for a great petal effect. The I saw that looked about perfect, a guy said he recovered it from the range berm.

What a slick idea!

My Lovely Lady allowed myself and the groomsmen to wear boutonnières that had flowers inside of empty casings. If I recall, I believe they were 300BLK cases. They were a funny, and surprisingly big, hit!

Congratulations!!!! You are so frickin lucky!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm thinking the cake should be in the shape of a 1911.
I'd love to see what you come up with on Instagram!

Several guys on Ebay sell Christmas light strings, where the lights are covered with different colored shotgun shell hulls. If you think about it, that's about every color in the rainbow. That might make for some nice decorative lighting that's funny, but non-offensive. Prices and lengths are all over the map.

Bullet Blooms.:)

I love them, but they are sharp. And made of lead.
Mind the kids and wash your hands.

Once the right distance from the plate is found, they can be made with some regularity.
Use a new, smooth plate.
Wait for it to stop swinging each time.

I seem to collect them up until one gets snagged into my clothes. Then they all go in the scrap bin.
Did I mention they're sharp?
Maybe just at the Wedding party's table...

Twist a small loop on a twelve guage ( :) ) wire and bend it to one side. An ultra sonic soldering tip can solder the bullet base to the wire with less time, as seen on television.

Now. How to make the leaves?...

Congrats on gettin' a good lady.
I pray for many years of happiness for the two of you.

No gun stuff at my wedding, just NFL jerseys.
She's a Bears fan - ugh! o_O Got a new Payton HOF jersey
And I'm a Packers fan. Got a new Reggie White jersey.
Asked all of our relatives, friends and neighbors to show up in football gear.
Lotsa teams were represented.

Half football cakes Green & Gold and Orange & Navy

At my wedding, the pastor said I could kiss the bride, then we turned toward the congregation. One complete row of well-wishers was holding up large number boards, like they were Olympic gymnastics judges.

But the scores were are 1's, 2's, and 3's !!

The only firearms at the weeding were her father and his 12ga.

If you have never actually seen them before, you'll be surprised at how little the amount you pay, buys. I did, and I have.
