Beto's gun rant

I had never heard of Briscoe Cain before today, but he said it clear enough.

Bad, bad tactical move Robert Francis.

Beto made that statement, to enthusiastic applause by the way, in an attempt to break out of the rear of the pack. That being said, I believe that every other Democrat on that stage would pursue the same goal if elected. His rivals have just been bit more reticent about stating their true gun control intentions.

If one were to create a hypothesis to fit the data, one could consider the former party of the Klan changed its tactics. Smile at and declare alliance with minorities while pushing to disarm them.

Sad that some minorities swallow the agenda regardless of its origin.

The history of gun control in North America is the history of violent White supremacism and the efforts of its proponents to create for themselves a "safe working environment".

A racialist party that wanted to disarm Blacks in 1919 is still a racialist party that wants to disarm Blacks in 2019.

Beto is the poster boy white privilege nerd that wants everyone to like him. He will say anything and if he gets desperate enough he may even forget to lie. Like we saw last night.
Like the white guy who claims to be black and wants to be a rapper

It was telling that no objections were voiced by the other candidates to what Beto was saying. At least some of the candidates had to have been aware that what he was saying was toxic in a general election. I've always said that gun owners will be a crucial voting bloc in the swing states of the Rust Belt and Sun Belt.

If I was a Democratic poobah I would be moving heaven and earth to get Beto to shut up about this going forward. But of course he won't, because he's desperate to score points with the base.

I don't know if this will be enough to swing the outcome of the presidential election. The election is a long way off, and the Democrats might be able to walk it back. Trump is behind by enough that it gives the Democrats a certain margin for error.

What I do know is that this destroys the Democrats' chances of taking the Senate. Control of the Senate hinges on a handful of states -- Colorado, Arizona, Maine, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama. What all these states have in common is large numbers of gun owners. In the case of Arizona, it appeared that large numbers of voters were prepared to overlook Mark Kelly's antigun activism, in contrast to the lackluster Martha McSally. Not any more.

They wouldn't even if they thought they could. You're asking the true believers to publicly renounce their true belief. Taqqiya only goes so far. You're more likely to see the Grand Ayatollah Khamenei ride through the middle of the Hajj on a Berkshire hog, wearing a rainbow thong, a pork chop in one hand and an Israeli flag in the other.

I am always entertained by the ignorance of the left and the press (do I repeat myself?) when they always mention the Ar15's and AK47's but do not mention the AR10, M-1, M-1 Carbine, SKS, M1A, as well as the civilian versions of the semi-auto's that will do as much damage in the least amount of time. I think their ignorance of the Constitution and the general support for individual rights among the public will be their undoing as well as the fact that I believe they would have a hard time finding the Brownshirts to carry out their devious plans. I know the county Sheriff's around here would laugh in their face if they were told to "confiscate the Ar15's and AK47's".

They'll find at least a few willing to "just follow orders". And when they do, it'll get real ugly, real fast, "burning Kansas" ugly.

Poll this morning:
Would you be willing to support the MANDATORY buy back of assault rifles?
Yes 45% (up from 43% before the debates 9/9)
No 46% (down from 53% before the debates 9/9)
Unsure 9%

Who is Beetle the carpet-bagger?
Well, a Texas State Rep called him out, and said he had an AR-15 and it was ready if the wanted to Come and Take it.*

Beetle decided that tweet was a death threat and red flagged the Rep to the FBI. Who Are Investigating It. So, he's about confiscation without bothering to be elected.

*In Texas' history, there was a massacre in the ton of Goliad, wher the Texicans--as they were known then--surrendered, and their captors made them draw beans from a bowl, and those drawing the wrong bean were executed.
Other Texicans had already spirited off the two cannons that were the goal of the Army. The folks with the cannons made up a flag with and image of a cannon, the name "Goliad," and the inscription "Come and Take it." (many arguments over whether it was a black flag painted in white, or a white flag painted/sen in black.) But, it's a common expression in Texas, one meant to express determination i nthe face of impossible odds. The only implied threat is that the speaker has drawn a line in the sand and is stating "no further."

I believe these brazen new proposals are just a tactic to weaken the presidents standing with his base. They probably know that they are not going to win. Ask for a mile to gain an inch. They know that by asking for these wild eyed psycho measures that maybe a proposal for something that sounds a little more reasonable will be more likely to pass and anger many of his supporters if he acts like he saved us from a ban by passing UBC or something. Idk, maybe not but it seems like a plausible tactic.... On another note, I'm pretty well sick and tired of people so woefully uninformed without even the slightest cursory knowledge about the objects in which they are so intent to ban. They want to go right for the ban before ever even finding out what "the little thing that makes it go up" does......

You are conflating two different incidents. The Goliad massacre took place on March 27, 1836, and almost all of Col. Fannin's surrendered command (some 425 to 445 men) were killed. The "black bean" incident took place on March 25,1843 (seven years later), when the prisoners from the ill-fated Mier expedition were forced to draw beans from a jar containing 159 white beans and 17 black beans. The men drawing the black beans were shot.

The exact opposite is happening. The "squishy" Republicans (perhaps even Trump himself) that were considering a UBC or red flag bill can clearly see that these things are precursors to general confiscation. As a matter of fact some of the antis that were hoping for an incremental approach are mad at Beto for ruining their strategy.

Yeah that's why Harris, seemingly coming off a wave of Benzodiazepine induced delerium at least had the wherewithal to laugh incredulously at joe when he started playing devils advocate in saying "whoa waha, well we have to be constitutional".... laugh. I bet Kamala just couldnt resist her smug snark back at him because they were probably all huddled in a circle prior to the debate chanting in satanic tongues in their united efforts to disarm every citizen....
