It all does matter. LEO's get a pass. What a surprise. Amazing how Communists hate firearms so, until they have absolute power.

It will be interesting to see how close the House vote is on this Unconstitutional tripe.
It's not just LEO's, (wait a sec while I put on my triple layer asbestos suit) retired LEO's are exempt, too. I know non LEO's will find that thrilling. lol

Hey, I didn't write it.

From the proposed bill:
"The bill also exempts from the prohibition the following, with respect to a SAW (semi-automatic assault weapon) or LCAFD (large capacity ammunition feeding device):
importation, sale, manufacture, transfer, or possession related to certain law enforcement efforts, or authorized tests or experiments;
  • importation, sale, transfer, or possession related to securing nuclear materials; and
  • possession by a retired law enforcement officer."

Part of me, just a small piece wants this to just pass and go to SCOTUS for a final ruling. It's going to be pushed more and more every year where it's just inevitable it gets the legs. I think we need the court to definitively rule so we can get past this nonsense. With the current makeup it's our best chances of having a favorable outcome.

Didn’t they already rule on this once and said that ARs were in common use?

Where is your information of a pending vote, and is it a for a committe vote or a vote on the floor of the House? The link you provided says the last action was referral to the Judiciary committee on 2/15/19. There is no indication of referral of the committee to the floor.
From what I see, the committee is planning a hearing related to gun violence on 9/26
https://judiciary.house.gov/legislation/hearings/community-responses-gun-violence-our-cities
That agenda statement does not indicate whether a vote will take place.

The House Committee on the Judiciary and Chariman Nadler are, of late, much bogged down in tremendously higher political theater than gun control.

It’s already been discussed with links earlier in the thread. But it’s a committee vote, not the entire floor.

They did stipulate in Heller yes, ARs are in common use. That was only part of the ruling though for common use and not militia. It held no standard for rulings in other areas as they only answer specific and very narrow questions. It may help inform future rulings, but so can the descents.

The ruling happened with no assault weapons or high cap mag ban in place. I want rulings on the awb and high cap bans being clearly unconstitutional so we never have to deal with this again. That can only be done once it passes. Problem is I see it eventually passing, at least in my lifetime, so just bring it on so my kids wont have to deal with it.
