Where do you place your firearm when you visit the toilet?

AIWB doesn't work well to just leave there. Have to unholster IME to get pants off. Some behind the hip holsters also come off because they only stay in place under tension, so will fall to the floor if I just leave them there when taking off pants.

So, many times the holster comes off, nothing to do about it.

Sometimes, there's no stall with enough concealment to leave the gun on the belt as our stupid off-the-floor stalls would leave it visible, and there's no waiting, etc. for a better one.

YES, loaded guns stay in holsters.

Always, always, somewhere I won't forget. A good place is as said, on my pants, between the ankles. Another example, at home where I still don't want to forget it and let kids get to it, is in the sink. I always wash at least a bit, so won't forget there either.

Because I wear shorts a lot (it's Texas, after all...) and my belt can 'unloop' itself with the weight of the pistol, I usually just unholster is and put it in my pocket. Another reason... if the stalls are open bottom, I don't want anyone reaching across and grabbing my piece. No, not that... oh, never mind.

I take the gun out of my holster and put it on the closest flat surface, never on the floor or in the holster. Some moron might make a grab for it and you are AT A HUGE MOBILITY DISADVANTAGE.

Good to look for an empty toilet. The handicapped larger toilet booth is also a good choice.

Tie a loop of parachute cord through the trigger guard and hang it around your neck until you finish your business. :)

In not sure why anyone would feel the need to remove the gun from it's holster no matter where it's carried.

My gun stays in my pocket all the time.

I have always removed it from my holster when in the "john" and never left it behind. And honestly, don't care if others understand why I do it or not. I would never imply what another person does is bad or good so long as what they do is safe. But I don't consider myself a perfect person. And if a person cannot safely remove a handgun from a holster, maybe they should not be carrying one.

Interesting question. My EDC sits in a "sticky" holster in my right front pocket so there is no reason to remove it in order to "conduct business" and as a result it will never be an issue I will have to be concerned with :)

I leave it in the IWB holster. If I am in public, I wrap the waistband of my underwear over it in case someone gets too curious. When pulling up my pants, I keep my hand on the gun. Not simple, but it works for me.

Allow me to explain myself, my solution and why we would like to find solution.
Its a very serious and significant event should I leave my side arm in a bathroom stall. If you carry for any length of time you can become careless and not give too much thought concerning your EDC. I solved this issue with me by placing the gun on top of my foot for good reason. #1 When you unbuckle and drop your pants that gun is dancing and pointing everywhere and I strongly prefer not to allow it. #2 When you are done and rebelting this process repeats. #3 I am sure that I am not the only one who wants to transfer said firearm from the resting position in my underwear back to the holster because you have to fumble and balance so...
My solution is to simple place the pistol in top of (MY) foot, stand up, pull up rousers and when that step is complete I simply pick uo the pistol that has been resting on my foot and place it in the holster. If I do this I will never give the smallest chance of leaving that pistol.
I particularly don't care if you want to critique this but I have seen too many instances of service members in the military leaving a weapon behind in the sh*tter and I am not willing to risk it.

1. Use the family bathroom if one is available.
2. If in a store, like a market - grab a bag to put the gun in and place it on the floor as if it were a package.

99% of the time my firearm stays in the holster and still attached to the belt. A good belt/holster combination will hold your weapon just like it was around your body. That 1% of the time I will unclip the holster and firearm, to place on the toilet paper holder. I am not going to leave the bathroom without wiping (I hope nobody here does either) so I won't "forget" if its sitting where my hand is going to be anyway.

I did not address you or anyone else with my post so why did you quote me and then answer with what seems to be anger towards me? I was serious when I asked why remove the gun from its holster and did not say or imply if it's good or bad.

When a gun is holstered it's usually not considered covering anyone if pointing it their direction.

I don't crap at a public toliet. Piss'n is one thing. Using the ****ter is another. For people that do. I'd not let my gun lay down with my drawers down.
I'd pull the weapon and hold on to it until my business was done.
