I'm telling you, even Robbie knows the statistics don't back him up. There's a reason why they target semi-automatic rifles, almost to the total exclusion of all other firearms, and it's not because they're stupid. It's because they know those types of weapons are the most effective small arms for combat scenarios, and what would most effectively be employed in any stand-up fight against tyrannical forces. The rhetoric is designed to manipulate the emotions of the electorate so they act impulsively to elect politicians who want to eliminate the people's ability, and their right, to resist tyranny.

The Leftists/Progressives see the Constitution and the Bill of Rights as obstacles to implementing their Marxist policies. And they know that there are true American patriots out there who will protect the Constitution, and the liberties protected therein, with their lives if necessary. This is why they need to eliminate any ability of The People to resist. Robbie is part of that cabal, and the fact that he's no longer a viable candidate for 2020 doesn't mean he can't be used to effectively spread their propaganda.

Then why focus specific attention on specific models? I realize that question is somewhat rhetorical but no one is threatening to confiscate my M1 Garand...

... yet.

I too am starting to think he's the sacrificial camel to get his nose under the tent.
<says something outrageous>. Other candidates go "that's a bit extreme, however..." and suddenly the camel is IN the tent again.

The kids that attend Kent today may want to believe they’re like the students of May 4 1970 but the truth is they and the current progressive politicians are lacking in so many ways.

I in no means condone the criminal actions of the students (past and present) but one wants to believe the right to protest the government was and still is sacred.

Or my M1-A. Probably because there aren’t several million in circulation. But don’t go giving them any ideas.
The M1A is certainly on the ban list put forth by Gov. Northam and the Democrats in Virginia. (And, of course, its 20-round magazines would be banned as well.) I would have to rent a pretty big storage locker across the state line in West Virginia.

Don’t make Beto go away. Please don’t.

He’s the best spokesman for... true... “Reasonable Gun Control”.

The people who Need him to go away are those whose Party members often state “We need Reasonable....”.

Most of us will benefit from this Skateboard, Ear Fuzz Celebrity, as will those who don’t want a ferry boat to Hawaii or Europe (remember AOC? She will also be canned if she helps “swing it” in 2020—).

I smell a conspiracy theory. The Democrats are sacrificing Beto. He's part of their master plan to make the rest of them appear moderate and more palatable to those in the party who were getting nervous about the party's extreme tilt to the left.

It's just getting so difficult to take the guy seriously ... he's becoming a caricature.

Hard to tell. They are all a bunch of rambling idiots sharing a single head marble. And that is the nicest way I can put it without putting on an NCO hat.

You have to at least respect Robert Francis for his honesty-he only said what he believes and wants, the confiscation of firearms from law-abiding American citizens. The rest of the unhinged leftists, from Dodd to Biden, have always fervently wanted the same thing but political cowardice have kept them from admitting it. Thank you, Beto, for unveiling who you people really are and the ends you real seek-the total disarming of America; a goal that so many so-called moderates, Republicans and Democrats alike, always thought was nothing more than conspiratorial right-wing hysteria.

Lots of people remember the first part of Senator Barry Goldwater's admonition at the 1964 Republican convention: "I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice..." but have forgotten the last part of his declaration, "...I would remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue."
