won $2000 gun raffle at LGS-what to choose ?

you can get only one firearm and can't add any ammo or accessories ( up to $2000)

I already have pretty much what I need and I will most likely resell it (unfired), eventually.
these guns are closest to $2000 limit (they all are between 1600-1800)
- Desert Eagle 50AE
-X95 9mm ( they don't have 5.56)
-some Daniels Defense AR's
-some Black Rain AR's ( never heard of these before)
Neither of these are my cup of tea.
They have few Springfield M1A Scout rifles. The one that I like is RBW flag model
Whatever I take I plan to take home and keep it unfired in original package for at least a month just in case I change my mind and decide to keep it.
But I think I will try to sell it later on Armslist or as consignment
Which gun of these listed you think will have best resale value and it will be easiest to sell later ?

they also have M1A socom
Dan Wesson 357 Mag 715 Pistol Pack with 3 barrel lenghts
Sig Sauer MPX-C

if I would keep anything for myself that would probably be Dan Wesson revolver - they are selling it for $1950.
p.s. they will not order anything, only things in stock

I'd go with the M1A Scout Squad in walnut if its available. Goes for a premium over the poly stocks and should move if you decide to sell.

Yup, M1a. SOCOM if they have one.

Fun if you keep it, should sell faster than the others if you decide to sell.

M1A.

The AR's don't hold resale value much in this market. Maybe if there's a "panic". But even then, I'd rather sell 4 budget AR's than one premium one coz no one will want to buy an overpriced AR that was overpriced beforehand.

The Tavor is a cult classic, so might be hard to find the right buyer. Plus, cheap PCC are everywhere.

The Desert Eagle could be cool. But again, might be a little while to find the right buyer.

If you really do not “need” it and it’s obvious you aren’t sure what you want why not call a local gun club that has a training department and see what they could use to help them with training new shooters, properly transferred, of course.
Or perhaps a Boy Scout Troop or maybe even a school or college shooting team (if they exist where you live).
Or maybe pick a really nice gun and donate it to a local pro gun group for a raffle to help fight for gun rights.

Just some thoughts.

First one I saw on your list that would be my choice would be the M1A Scout Rifle. You might even make it a keeper.

They don't have SCAR and they will not special-order anything, it is basically what they have in stock.
I think I will go with M1A, but just to confirm: you think that one with classic wooden stock will be easiest to resell if I go that route?

I personally find it beautiful, but do you think that either a synthetic stock or colors maybe a turn off for majority of buyers ?

It’s all up to your tastes. If you like the flag and want to keep it....go for it. My tastes are unique to me. If I was going to buy one from you, I’d prefer the classic look. But that’s one guy’s opinion.

I think the colored stock would limit your potential buyer pool.

I bought my Vietnam Era GI wood stock and handguard from Fred's M14 Stocks. I believe he has since sold all of his inventory to Treeline:

Can you take a more than $2000 gun and pay the difference?

If so, do they have any Ed Browns, Nighthawks, Wilsons, or higher end CZ's?

They are definitely limiting you by saying a $2000 limit and no add-ons, but I don't see that you stated going over and paying the difference was prohibited. Going this way you'd maximize the value and utility. Even if you paid another $1500-$2000 to get a nice Wilson, and then sold it new in box for $2500-$3000 for what would be a $3500-$4000 gun new, you are clearing $1000-$1000 on that sale. I'd expect a NIB Wilson marked $500-$1000 lower than buying from the factory or from a local shop would sell off fairly quickly.

Thing is, these guys that put on the raffle already did their homework and know what they are willing to give to OP, nothing more, a lot less if they can make it happen. Best thing is to not over think it, get what you want, and be done with it. Glass half full vs. glass half empty.
