I bought a CZ 85 (no "B" stamp) a few years back, fired it once or twice, and packed it away. It was one of those "because it was there" purchases.

I see several references to the CZ 75 on different boards, But nothing about the 85. They appear almost identical.

In our archives, I see threads on the 85B and an 85 "Combat", nothing on a plain 85.

Could someone explain the differences between the 75 and 85? And/or what differentiates the different 85 models?

the cz 85 combat does not have a firing pin block safety.so you can change the firing pin without tools during combat

i think i prefer the trigger pull over the 75b but both have good triggers.

ha ha... "where did i put my spare firing pin " the soldier says as he dodges a bullet.

The 85b is similar to the 75B firing pin, it might have adjustable sight or not depending the contract, bilateral safety.
The 85 Combat doesn't have firing pin block, therefore a better trigger feeling pull, adjustable sights are present on early imported models, late imported models did not.
Same weight and size as 75B.
A well used 75 B will give a smooth trigger (long though), the 85Comabat has a small screw to reduce the over-travel.
Love both the 75b that I own adopted a Kadet kit for life, the 85 Combat complain about polymer guns infesting the safe.
