on another forum it appears to lighten the travel or pull on the trigger if you remove it
disconnect out and I think the trigger pull is better

Finally got the mag release out; The trick is that it has to be depressed as far as possible (almost forcibly) to line up the slot to turn the spring guide out. As far as the mag disconnect is concerned, until I can get a spare part for the pistol, I am leaving it alone. I did get the latch portion smoothed out, though, so the mags now slide in and lock without hanging up.

I filed the nub off of the mag release button, didn't notice any effects on the trigger. Doesn't take 5 minutes to do with a hand file.

I'm going to assume that the only way to do this is to remove the trigger? In other words, partially disassemble the gun?

Actually, the gun works and fires quite well. Trigger feels nice. Just has that ridiculous magazine "safety".

I don't really have the tools or know how to tear a pistol down. I could pay someone to do all that, but I wouldn't be able to do it myself.

The mag release is very simple to remove, just takes a screwdriver.

ttarp, I was referring to the magazine safety disconnect.

Indeed, so was I.

The nub to grind flat on the trigger contacts a similar nub on the mag release, grinding either one works, but its a lot easier to remove the mag release.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if guns were designed by engineers instead of lawyers, and nothing as stupid as a magazine disconnect was even available.

Just did that on my 1911\380, and on an old star model b. I have always hated that ridiculous magazine disconnect.

Tonight, I did the filing. No more "magazine safety disconnect"! Thanks again, ttarp.
