was that re-blued? the mirror finish shows no flaws from the pix, and that's not one of the new locked guns with frame firing pins. congratulations on the hand beater.

Oh, that beautiful blue color. It just isn't seen on handguns of today.

As much as I don't need, or even want, another 44 Mag, if I tripped over that one I'd be hard pressed to pass it up.

Nice gun! I have one very much like it that I bought back in the early '80s. It is my favorite revolver. I have Eagle rosewood grips on mine and I replaced the rear sight with a Millet target style. I guess it never dawned on me that it might become a collectible. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

I have a 4" model 629-4, not nearly as pretty, but custom tuned and a fine shooter. I've fired a lot of Georgia Arms 240 grain SWCs through my revolver with excellent results. Doesn't feel like a hand cannon when firing, but at 1000 fps, its dropped two wild hogs and a number of coyotes for me with one shot for each animal.

That is very nice!! I have a similar vintage 8 3/8" M57. I love the bluing that was done back then. I think environmental laws killed good bluing.

They just don't make that anymore... And if they do you better have some serious cashola or must be doing physical favors for it (non highroad actions). Never imagined that you could almost see your reflection in black/blue coloring but these things proved me wrong

Yep, I thought that too. Take those factory stocks off, wrap them in tissue, put em in a ziplock bag, and stash them back.
Get you some ugly rubber grips, fire at will.
