was that re-blued? the mirror finish shows no flaws from the pix, and that's not one of the new locked guns with frame firing pins. congratulations on the hand beater.

Nice gun! I have one very much like it that I bought back in the early '80s. It is my favorite revolver. I have Eagle rosewood grips on mine and I replaced the rear sight with a Millet target style. I guess it never dawned on me that it might become a collectible. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

That is one beautiful handgun!!!
I have a 4" model 629-4, not nearly as pretty, but custom tuned and a fine shooter. I've fired a lot of Georgia Arms 240 grain SWCs through my revolver with excellent results. Doesn't feel like a hand cannon when firing, but at 1000 fps, its dropped two wild hogs and a number of coyotes for me with one shot for each animal.

Holy Mackerel! :what:

That is one shiny, spiffy Smith you have there, very well done .

I can't imagine the skill it takes to make those guns shine like that, a real example of the craftsman taking pride in one's product!

Let us know how it shoots once you go out and dirty up that beauty.

Stay safe.

That is very nice!! I have a similar vintage 8 3/8" M57. I love the bluing that was done back then. I think environmental laws killed good bluing.
