Good deal on Security Six?

I would say you got a very good price. The best price I have gotten on a Security 6 was for a blued, 4 inch that had PACHMAYR Gripper grips and nothing else with it was $349.00. It does have a superb trigger job and is one of my favorite revolvers, frequently going to the range as reference when shooting other .357 magnums.

In fact, when I went to the range last week, I took it and a RUGER GP-100 stainless model with a 4 inch non-full underlugged barrel and DAO trigger. I shot REMINGTON 125 grain sjhp and WINCHESTER 110 grain jhp .357 magnums followed by REMINGTON 125 grain .38 Special +P sjhp rounds. It was a total of 170 round evenly split between the 2 guns. Because they are similar in weight, I wanted to see if there was a big difference in the perceived recoil and controlability. It was hard to notice the difference when shooting and scores were similar.

Good luck with your new gun!

The Security Six is pretty much in the same size and weight class as the S&W Model 19. The biggest difference to me between the two is that the Security Six's modular design gave it a little more strength and rigidity with it's one piece frame versus the S&W frame with it's side plate. Shooting the two guns I thought the Security Six had less felt recoil and muzzle rise but that the S&W had the lighter and smoother trigger.
