Ruger Carbine

I'd be all over a 40/10mm(maybe?) or a .45 ACP with the quickness. I can understand the bean counting, but Ruger should really realize their customers ability to rationalize a purchase. I mean all these .45 ACP rounds aren't going to shoot themselves. As to bikerdoc, I had a Hi-Point carbine in 9mm. Tons of fun, reliable no real issues. Never could get over the (relatively) low capacity magazines and the analogy of a large woman and a moped. :D

There are already a few versions in .40 out, if they had been available when I got my 9mm, I probably would have gone that direction.

I asked this question some time ago. Has anyone found a "reasonable price" for a flash hider for this carbine?? I found one or two but they were stupid priced. Just a simple flash hider like for ARs. Mine has the threaded barrel.
No, I don't need one but it's a cool "tactical" thing.:)

They are threaded 1/2-28 same as an AR15 so any AR15 flash hider will fit. If you want a muzzle brake you’ll just need to be sure it has a big enough opening.

Love mine. Have picked up quite a few Glock mags for it, including a G26 mag to keep the profile low. It prompted me to get a Glock 17 to have a companion for it. The iron sights are excellent, although my eyes aren't, so a red dot is in the near future.

Got one in a trade deal. Never would have bought one (I dont think) but now that I have it I love it. Very sturdy... heavier than expected. Put a MI rail on, MRO, and it is a joy to shoot. I would get more utility out of it in a more potent cartridge... but as it sits I can blast away my cheap steel cased 9mm without a problem.

I was excited when I saw the latest iteration because it really looked like it had a folding stock. Unfortunately it doesn't, and it's also is about 0.5lb heavier than my basic model. Bummer.

I should also add that Ruger is treating me right on my return for warranty work, paying for shipping and even sending me a box to ship it back in (I hate shipping rifles because it's always a pain for me to find an appropriately sized box). Credit where credit is due.

You don't keep the boxes for your firearms?

I usually do, but I don't really want to just slap a shipping label on a big white box with red Ruger and PC Carbine logos emblazoned all over it. A lot of rifle boxes don't really seem all that protective to me either, I usually just make an exterior box out of a larger box and slide the manufacturers box into that, but I used up all the bigger boxes I had laying around.

Just go to a LGS and get the outer shipping box that all rifles come it. I have dumpster dived for several of them.:)

Dang I want that one now. Wonder if Ruger will trade me?:) I pay the differance
I hate it when they do that. Just like SA XD and I Phones!

What do folks want a 45 acp or 10mm? If you don't reload it is expensive to shoot. 10mm perhaps for hunting?
