Glock 48

I have one. It’s a good firearm. I put some Wilson Combat battle sights with a gold dot front on mine. It carries and shoots very well. It’s not my EDC, but that’s only because I’m so used to my PPS. I would recommend the G48.

My similar 43X might be the last carry gun I ever buy. Thinking about getting another, or a 48, for practice to keep the count low on the carry gun.

I EDC mine everyday. It’s a Glock it’s ate anything I’ve put in it without fail.

My ideal size, weight and barrel length. I think I found my perfect EDC, it’ll essentially be a slim Glock 19 when I get my Shield Arms 15 round flush mags. The 43x would be nice as well but I prefer the additional barrel length for greater velocities and sight radius and hiding barrel length is easy when carrying at the 3:30-4:30 position IWB.

If one AIWB carries I would suggest them to go with the 43x option as the additional barrel/slide length creates some potential problems with appendix carrying. But I don’t AIWB carry.

Glock messed up by making different magazines for the G43X and G48 than those used with the G43. A G43 with a 6 round mag is a great CC weapon and having the extended 10 round magazines used with the G43X and G48 would have meant a very versatile gun. I looked at all 3 and chose the G43. I have 2 magazines left stock, 2 have +2 extensions on them.

That said I like the Sig 365 better. With flush fit 10 round mags it isn't any harder to conceal than the G43 and with extended 12 round magazines it has essentially replaced my G19 for OWB carry. I haven't handled the Sig 365 XL.

Wait to see if the 15rd magazines work, if they do get one for sure!

have a look at the Sig 365XL too I was all set to get the G48 until I looked at the sig

I did just the opposite :)
Actually was almost sold on the 365xl and then spent some range time with a 43x and a 48. I handled the 48 better than the others. The mag capacity is a non issue for me. Pretty sure the 365xl would conceal a little better if that's a concern.

I do like my 43 .... I picked up several +2 mag extentions .... I have played with tbe idea of getting a 43X/48 lower ...
But probably not , I like the short 6 rd grip of the 43 , for concealablity

I shot a G48 at a rental range a few weeks ago. It's the very first Glock that felt good in my hand (and I carried Glocks for 23 years). Good accuracy for the limited number of rounds I put through it. I've an more than adequate number and type of handguns already and don't need another one, really I don't. But I keep getting tempted to go shoot it some more.

Was about to buy the 48 when I handled the 43X.

I already owned a 43,and its no big deal to me that they use different magazines.

The 43 is a great ankle or DEEP cover pistol.

I have worn them both, and yes I carried a spare magazine for each.

I bought mine with night sights and I might be adding the after market trigger.

Both guns have at least 500 rounds through them.

Today I shot the Glock 43x and the Sig 365 for the first time my range has free rentals on Mondays they did not have the 48 or the 365XL But hands down the Sig 365
out shot the Glock and felt better in my hands The trigger on the sig was better but i could get use to the trigger on the Glock the sights on the sig were right on like pointing my finger I had to look for the sights on the Glock the slide on the Sig did not lock back on a empty magazine ? I have know idea how many rounds have been shot in ether
pistol or the last time that they were cleaned or lubed but the Glock ran like a top

Handled one at the shop and really liked it. The slightly thicker grip than the 365 fits my bigger hands far, far, better and as someone who can easily EDC a Glock 19 under a light tshirt I don't need tiny.

If I didn't already have a Glock 26 for deep concealment I would highly consider one as the longer grip is trivial with the thinner grip for me.

I have a 48 as well as an older 43. Both are excellent pistols. Some people draw an analogy between the G48 and the 1903 Colt Pocket Hammerless as the two are similar in size. Others liken it to a skinny G19. Both my G48 and my G43 are super reliable. Which one I carry (CCW) completely depends on the way I dress, where I’m going and what I’m doing. While Oklahoma is about to go Constitutional Carry, I prefer not to advertise the fact that I have a pistol. The G48 and the 43X are going to be more likely to print under your clothing so I dress to minimize that likelihood. Carrying a gun offends some folks, others regard you as a whack-job spoiling for a fight or a cop wanna-be. I prefer to mind my manners and go about my own business. You will be well served by the G48.

The grips on Glocks generally aren't a good fit for me, but the 48 is an exception due to the thinner grip. Mine has been completely reliable and accurate. I have the 15 round magazines on order, and if I get to where I can carry IWB again (I'm still recovering from a back/neck injury) it will most likely be my primary carry gun. 15+1 in a gun that's this light, thin, reliable and accurate is tough to beat.

I've been considering going AIWB at some point, but I'm one of those wussies who refuses to carry any striker-fired pistol AIWB without a safety, so between that and the shorter grip for deep concealment I'd lean toward the P365 w/MS.

That said, the G43x/G48 are the first Glocks that don't feel like a 2x4 in my hand. I could get used to them.

I saw the 48 the first time while poking around in my favorite gun shop. Didn't know it existed until then, but it had everything I wanted, thin grip, good barrel length, night sights, and of course expected (and delivered) reliability. It's been my EDC ever since. I too think of it as a thin 19, and the loaded weight doesn't drag. Very good entry in the Glock lineup. Waiting on my set of S15 mags from Shield arms.

I ordered one the day they were announced, but decided it wasn't for me. The width difference was negligible compared to a Glock 19 given my body type and the way I carry (athletic, AIWB). I also wouldn't want to give up capacity, a light, and an RMR.

I handled one this week in a gun shop. I decided it was not for me. It didnt seem any more concealable than my Glock 19, and less concealable than my Glock 43.

The P35XL grip is miles better for my hands anyway. Being cursed with my Mom's Portuguese chubby fingers, I have always had to cheat around the backstrap to shoot. The P365XL actually allows me to keep the beavertail in the web of my hand rather than on top of my thumb knuckle. I have plenty of strength in my hands and breadth in my shoulders so recoil has never been an issue, trigger control is more difficult when my hand is maxed out on finger stretch. If you have hands like mine, at least try the P35XL. IMO it's better than any glock and the original P365 grip.

I have one and I like it. I am a Glock person anyway and had just gotten rid of all my Glocks just prior to the G48 coming out. I went to the range and handled one then rented it to shoot. I have fairly large hands and most 9mm/40 Glocks fit my hands nicely, but the 48 seems to fit better. I like the slender slide and the feel of it, and it is lighter. I pre-ordered some of the Shield Arms 15-round mags for it, that should make it a very nice package. I don't use it for ccw although I probably could, but I use the Ruger EC9s for that.
