On the contrary. They're so sure of victory (because of "Trump Derangement Syndrome") that they figure they'll push the limits while the opportunity is greatest. We wouldn't be seeing this if any Republican other than Trump was president.

Between the fatigue induced by Biden's campaign schedule, his need for more contributions and his age, it appears to be a "dead man's spiral", as when a pilot with too little instrument tng. + flying experience (or none) suffers vertigo and the plane stays in a bank. The increasing descent rate (i.e. JFK Jr.) with increasing G forces in the tight spiral often cause inflight breakup.
