What does it cost to go to the range in your neck of the woods?

My range costs an NRA membership plus $100 in yearly dues.

I've been a member for 2 months and have gone twice, so right now it costs me $65 a trip, plus the cost of targets I print (on my wife's business laserjet) and staples. Oh, the staples are free too, on my first trip some old timer bought the wrong size for his gun and gave me an entire pack as he was leaving.

$6 all day at the outdoor range
$15 all day at the indoor range, Veteran ID required

$80 per year. You get a key to the gate, can shoot from daylight to dark, 7 days a week. No limits on how many visits a year. Cn bring family and guest.

$96 per year, $130.00 initiation
Pretty active range, so watch the calendar for matches, outside of match days it always has space.

Pikes Peak Gun Club

$142.00 a year $7.00 each range trip

$150 initiation, $250/ year thereafter for me and my wife, trap and skeet houses (pay $3.00/ round for birds), manual trap/ skeet for practice, rifle (out to 200 yards), pistol (out to 50), pistol metallic gong, archery, dog training, two lakes of fishing, two club houses. Best part of this membership is that this club is about ten minutes from my house. Very well maintained and very underutilized - most of my visits, I have the whole property to myself. Quiet, peaceful, very safe and well set up - I used to frequent public ranges but got tired of the language, bad behavior and looking over my shoulder all the time. This membership was a real blessing to a guy like me.

Sac Valley Shooting Center
$140 annual membership and $7.00 to shoot all day. Pistol range, rifle range out to 1000' (once you qualify at 100 & 300') and shot guns/clays

It's hands down the nicest and safest range around

Outdoor - $50 per year. Trap, Olympic Trap, SASS buildings , 250 year rifle range, pistol "pit"..

Relatively new indoor range, nice with friendly staff.

Mon. is geezer day, 11AM-2PM is half price, $6 for 1/2 hour, $10 for an hour. Same times and prices on Tue. and Wed. Wed. they usually have a free lunch.

If I go by myself I find a 1/2 hour once a week is enough time for me to stay in practice and shoot what I'd like.

They have annual fees, with a very good reduction for LE, even retired, but for me I find I'm better off with the discounted day rates.

It costs me nothing. I can shoot on my own land. I am very lucky in that respect.

Up to 60 yards, free. Right off the back porch.

Up to 120 yards, free with hunting liscense. State WMA with covered lanes and game wardens moonlighting as safety officers. About 5 miles down the road from the house.

Up to about 650 yards, free with hunting club dues. Our lease is about a 45 minute drive.

Niantic Sportsmen's Club- $330/year, $1.00/day for indoor pistol, outdoor pistol and outdoor rifle ranges. $3.00/round of skeet.

The local club was $75 a year when I quit them. There was a bubba who missed the backstop and hit a barn 2 miles away. Then the powers-that-be passed rules for a range office present anytime you wanted to shoot. Now I drive 26 miles to a range set up by the AGFC. It has a pistol and a rifle range, but only goes out to 200 yards. Cost me gas and a small donation.

I also have friends who set up a private range where we can shoot up to 800 yards. No benches but we have a portable shooting table that we set up in the bed of the truck. We marked the fence in 100 yard increments. Works fine until the wind gets up or the cows are in the back pasture..

$6 per visit, you can stay from 9 to 5 if you choose to do so.

10, 25, 50, 100, 200 yrds for paper( you can bring your own steel but now only allow pistol or rimfire -minimum 25 yrds) and gongs at 225 yrds

550yrd steel targets ram, gongs, prairie dog javelina (javelina disappeared lately)

750 yrd gong

The ONLY indoor range for 50 miles is $18.78 an hour, plus $8 an hour for gun rentals.

There are several indoor public ranges in the Cleveland area, however one is so dangerously unsupervised I won't use it, another is so new I don't know anyone who's used it and the one I use is clean, safe and well run, but expensive at $19-20/hr. The others are much farther away in Lorain, Lake and Summit Counties.

Quite the opposite. I live in a small town of 1200 in an area that you would think would be conservative. But two major universities in the area have poisoned it.

The nearest town of 30,000 has five pot shops but not a single gun shop.

Rex's Indoor range... $10/30 minutes, $8/each additional half hour. When I was a kid, I swore I'd one day own enough land to shoot on. I currently own a house on .33 of an acre and a restrictive HOA. Go figure.

Guess I did miss that. Can`t delete it now, but if someone who has the power of deletion feel free to delete my post in this thread.

My range requires an NRA membership and $50 a year. The cost was doubled three years a go to try to weed out some of the riff-raff that shot up things that weren't supposed to be shot and left a lot of trash. It seems to be working, especially in the things being shot up department.

Local indoor range senior rate $14/mo unlimited.
