What's on your short list (Santa wants to know)

What is on my short list to Santa? More reloading supplies. I don't really need any new firearms although a Mini-14 would be nice, instead I need to reload more to shoot what I already own more often.

I took care of my short list got them both Marlin .444 rifle & S&W .22 Victory pistol. So now I am buying what like and see at the time i'm lgs shopping.

My list has been filled, nor i'm buying whatever I see and would like to have.I am putting money back to buy a Single Six or a Rossi 92 45 24" octagon tubular magazine. It gonna be a while before I buy either.

I don't rely on Santa, and when something pops up on my short list, I usually just buy it myself.

Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore has both of those on sale for $250

I know, but I just had a baby, and money is tighter than it's ever been. I don't see a new gun in my future for a while.

It's funny though, before I started reloading, a bolt action rifle chambered in 223 would have been boring to me. But now... The possibilities are endless. Plus I wouldn't mind trying my hand at coyote hunting some time in the future..

Nothing expensive at all, just a 3 1/2" barreled, bird's head gripped Heritage SA. If Ruger offered this in a single six my want would be more expensive but they don't so the Heritage it is. Mrs Santa Clause has already agreed to this.

I want to get a look at the Nightforce NX8 2.5-20x50 F1. Supposed to be great, but isn't everything?

I'm looking at a platform to launch one of the Federal Edge TLR bullets now that they're available as components. Both the .308 200gr and .284 155gr are intriguing. I'm considering a CZ 550 in 28 Nosler for the .284. Possibly a M70 in .300 WSM for the .308. It's the first .308 bullet worth talking about in a long time IMO.

What sucks about getting old ... er, and have been into firearms for 45+ years ...
About 8 years ago I started buying guns I passed on or couldn't afford 20-30 years ago and re-acquiring Guns that I regretted selling to buy other guns I thought I wanted.

So, I really don't have a short list and when I go to a show ... even a big one, I walk around and 98% of the time I look at something and it's either "had one, don't want another" or "got one" ... so now I keep looking for something I like the looks of ... for instance, I recently bought a stainless Mini-14 with a Choate stainless folding stock and I just "liked it", even tho I've had a couple and at the time (compared to an AR) the accuracy was crap so I'd sell them ... now I just accept it for what it is, (a 3-4" moa gun) but its compact and reliable, and its fine.

If $ 600 fell off a donut truck I would buy a Labradar "chrono." Right now I cannot justify the price but tune in tomorrow.

My Caldwell chrono works but it is a pain to tote and set up... and further the phone app does not function in my remote range.

Retro 4x carry handle scope from Brownell's

Any Colt firearm, but a 901 would be sweet since they quit making 308s. King Cobra Target model would do.

I'd like another decent red dot, have my eyes on one from Bushnell I might try.

If Santa is really out there a Colt marked 1918a3 by Ohio Ordnance would be the bestest gift ever!

Bought it three weeks ago-an early, very unexpected gift “from my wife”:
a Sig P225 (1987) with factory test target, box etc.
It was available only because a regular Armslist buddy decided to sell on that website.

A Trapdoor Springfield
An M1 Garand
S&W Victory .22 for plinking
A flintlock rifle
An older, blued S&W model 10 or 15 with a heavy barrel
A Beretta PX4 9mm

...my tastes are eclectic and my list is long. The priorities change every day.

Savage 308 Hog Hunter, but since that's not going to happen a Ken Onion Edition Work Sharp knife sharpener to help keep all the knives sharp for processing the deer I shot with my old 06 will do.
