Southern Michigan Deer Rifle

Here’s what I ended up. I’m glad I went this route since to me it’s a “real” rifle I can use in Southern Michigan, or really any other big game in Michigan with the ranges we have here.

.450 Bushmaster in a Remington 700 action with walnut stock, Shilen barrel, and Timney trigger.

Range report - it shoots better than I can! I didn’t have much time before the season to put many rounds through it, but I was confident enough to hunt with it. At two hundred yards I could keep it within 5 inches. This is my first rifle except for an AR-15, so it’s been a learning curve.

Two deer down so far this year - have one more tag so holding out for a big one.
