Location
Central New York
I moved a few weeks ago and left behind my old reloading bench minus the equipment of course. New house had one rickety old work bench and lots of random nails in the walls. Not a carpenter by any means. I had a location in the basement with 82 inches between the walls. Concrete floor and floor joists above. Found some cabinets that were like new. Guy built a house and now had to sell. His five foot wife wanted a table height kitchen. In order to sell he had to replace the bottom cabinets. I brought them home Saturday. I have been prepping the spot for the last two week. Plugged the sheet rock holes (not fixed, just plugged) and painted it almost white using a mixture of four paint cans left over from the old house. 8 LED light strips for light. Painted the floor with special gray floor paint. Build a platform on the floor 10 inches up to mount the cabinets. Have a 13 inch gap that will used for the press location. Still have to mount the press, still sorting out the equipment. There are many here with nice setups. This is my new one. I share the space with the water tank, breaker box, and other items. 59450713312__51872E1A-9387-4AE8-9752-265727E33669.JPG 59451010957__AE5885E5-F25D-4AB5-A627-AA5E18CC138D.JPG 59450713312__51872E1A-9387-4AE8-9752-265727E33669.JPG 59451010957__AE5885E5-F25D-4AB5-A627-AA5E18CC138D.JPG 59372309712__C8015B64-7B95-4B7A-82C0-97F41E94BF90.JPG 59451023408__B55651DF-3A31-4D35-B1F8-BF89B1568D39.JPG

Turned out nicely!

Thanks. We have a lot of things not so good in NY. But we have basements. Got a nice dry one with high ceilings in the new house. The old basement had many places where your head wasn't welcome.

Nice looking set up. You might have to add a 2x under the spot where your press will be mounted to strenghten in up for when you resize rifle cases.
I see you have a good sellection of dies on hand.

I would add a shelf on the wall behind the bench. At eye level if you ever use a balence beam scale.

What part of central New York are you in?
I will be in the Harpursville New York area for deer season and there are two guys on here, one from Binghamton andbone from Orange County. We will be getting to gether to hunt a couple of days if you are interested in going. We will be hunting around Broome & Delaware Counties.

Troy started a New York Hunters thread in the hunting section if you want to chime in.

I remember when my loading bench was clear of stuff, i need more room.

It sure is nice having a finnished off basement. Out here in Washington State most houses just have crawl space underneath. It SUCKS, you loose a whole floor leval and working on anything under the house is a big PITA.

Thanks for the invite. I am hunting on family land just south of Utica this year. I live not to far from Syracuse after my recent move. Lovely country where your going. I already reinforced the bottom of the counter top with 5/8th plywood. I still have a lot of little tasks to get it done. All after work jobs. The new house has a finished basement except for two rooms. One for reloading and one to keep the firearms.
