We get them by the rock at the river when trout season starts, don't know if we are allowed to kill them, I'd like a skin or two for a bow build. Copperheads get killed. That snake should buy a loto ticket lol.

If you want to stay out of trouble and get a skin don't post on social media. Lots of places the tree huggers have made some species rattle snakes go on the endangered list. Your post can incriminate you. Keep your business yours.

I'd suggest if you want to stay outta trouble to know the game laws in your area and abide by them. Some endangered species are Federally protected. For most folks that want a skin, it's cheaper to buy one online then to poach and risk loosing your hunting/fishing rights on top of a significant fine. Funny thing is, how so many poachers get caught because they have to brag....on social media. Poaching is still poaching, even if you keep your mouth shut. Poachers generally poach more than once. Making the suggestion to keep your mouth shut(SSS) after poaching is not what I call The High Road.

So what you are saying is you believe this poster is and always was and will be a poacher. The mere suggestion or even implications that a person is an intentional poacher is not what one would call The High Road.

Nuttin' of the sort. The poster you are referring to never stated he was going to kill something illegally, only that he would like a skin. You on the other hand made the statement to not publicly announce that he not post about it after he did. IOWs you are the one who assumed Troy was a violator.

I believe live pa you can get one a year with the permit. If I ever got my pa licence that would be a good way to get a skin. I guess some skins online are legal like ones from snake farms or something. But the ones I've seen online look sketchy and there may be a proper way to prepare the skin to back a bow with.

That video wouldn't allow me to see anything in focus so I couldn't tell a thing about it. Maybe have your brother get a new phone(?)

I hear ya Buck. And what was the point of posting such a stupid video in the first place. And Yes, there are in fact endangered rattle snake species. And if you want to just kill anything in the wild, just for the sake of killing it, just keep it to yourself. I do not care what you call me, the video was disgusting and the snake certainly was no threat.

I wish I had the powers to see things not included in a video. It's amazing that you know this snake wasn't close to someone's house, that you know the location, the laws, the type of snake and the threat imposed from a blurry 26 second video. Also, I wasn't aware that the internet or the highroad belonged to you and must pass your approval before being posted.
You saw the title of the thread, if you didn't want to see it, you shouldn't have clicked on it. Of course we all know you came here to virtue signal though.
I try to give people the benefit of the doubt in regards to them knowing their local laws, but I think its time a little darwinism is practiced. Maybe the warning labels need to be removed and let fate take its course? Pretty sure this is 2 days in a row both you and I have encountered this same topic.

Suggest your brother load shot shells up as the first one or two in a revolver if he makes it a habit of hiking desert trails. The desert trail part suggest Mr. Rattler wasn’t near anyone’s house and perhaps brother could have just taken a few steps back, wasn’t there so......... personally I don’t advocate killing anything I’m not going to eat but that’s me.
I live in Florida winters, previous owner told me there were copperheads and Timber rattlers in the the neighbor. I keep a loaded GP 100 in a kitchen cupboard, first one up is a .357 shot shell, just for Mr Rattle Snake coming into my yard, the other five for Mr Intruder of the two legged variety, thankful, other than Mr and Mrs Black Snakes neither hasn’t happen in 15 years, but I’m ready.

Oh Bs, your typical post. You might have looked at the area he was filming in. I sure did not notice any houses, apartments playground. And he even said the snake was 12' away. And please do not Patronize me with the HIghRoad crap. As soon as I saw you had replied, I know right away something like this was going to come out from you. Bug off.And even if he HAD to dispatch the snake, making a video of his killing it with his lousy shooting was Disgusting. Highroad that!
