Can we get a thread going on something that most can agree on, the Top 10 9mm handguns. Starting with the #1 being the best.

I will list a few that are pretty darn great to own, but give them no order, once we have enough feedback from people, we can start to give them order.

My Favorite is my Sig P226 Legion. The Legion gives it a few upgrads over the standard P226.

CZ 75 SP=01 Another great gun, I have one with a thread barrel , but no suppressor for it yet.

Beretta 92 FS, I have that and the G model, very well made and shoots well.

I would make my Sig #1, or close to #1.

As I look over my small collection of nines, I place my CZ-75B stainless limited edition at the top. Sweet, comfortable shooter and stupid accurate.

Once you get a good list, start a poll and you will end up with the results you seek.

Old school S&W pistols have to make the list, but which one(s)?

BHP?

I have to agree with the other submissions, the Beretta design is awesome, the 1911 adapts well, 226 is great, 75 pattern is huge right now, and the Glock is what 9mm pistols are judged by now.

Your choices are dependent on what 'use' they are intended for.;) The 210 is probably the most accurate, but the 365 is probably the the most concealable. Then some just 'fit' the individual more than others so it is totally an individual 'preference'. But I guess that was your intent, to see what each person 'preferred'! :)

ROGER THAT!!!:) I am still partial to the 59 series S&W pistols. Some see the 'striker' fires guns as an improvement, which may be true for match shootings. But when it comes to real 'combat' I don't see any real improvement (if it is not broke don't fix it). A full DA pull on the first shot makes more sence when we see the 'startled' response which happens in many real shooting situations. But that is just my observation after 40+ years in LE.;)

Browning Hi Power
Sig P226
Sig P225 (original)
Sig P365
CZ 75
S&W 547 (I'm a wheel gun guy)
Not in any particular order.
I generally don't care for polymer or striker guns, but the P365 offers capacity in such a small size that metal hammer guns can't touch.

Top 10 for what???
Just general bestestness and good for doing stuff. :D

I haven’t shot enough true top tier guns, and I’m guessing that’s true of a lot of people, to have an educated opinion. So this is just going to be people shouting out their favorites.

So I guess I’ll just submit the CZ Tactical Sport as one of the best for a variety of reasons. But top ten is defined by so many factors, it’s just a random gun I think is real good. I’m sure others consider them crap.

Pretty much. So here's mine, in no particular order, and I'll make zero claims that any of them are "the best," though most of my favorites have distinguished records of service:
SIG P-228 West German,
SIG P-226 Legion SAO,
Beretta M-9 (not commercial 92FS),
CZ-75B,
S&W M&PC 2.0,
SIG P-365XL,
S&W 5906,
S&W 3914,
H&K P-30
SIG P-938

Too subjective. Except for the 226; I have not seen any of the ones I carry. But in my opinion, they are best for me, accurate and never failed to shoot when I pulled a trigger.

This is like asking on a truck forum which truck is the top truck!

I'm going to through the p320 in the mix. Probably the first successful modular polymer gun. Great trigger (for a striker), accurate, cost effective, and will for better or worse be viewed as an historic US Military sidearm.

CZ75
1911

Beretta 92

I've had Walthers and Sigs I've liked pretty well.

The plasticky ones are all so similar...

My S&W M59 is one of my favorites. As are the BHP and the 1911-A1. The M59 shoots any 9mm I've filled a magazine with.

My 1911-A1s are real WWII 1911-A1s so they are picky eaters with JHP.

Sticking to base guns and not all variants.....
Assuming combat/defensive pistol....

CZ 75/b
Glock 34/17/19
BHP
Sig 226/225
Walther PP/Q
HK P30/VP9
Springfield XD
FN 509
Sig P320
S&W MP

I can only speak of those I own. I think highly of all of. them.

All around, bestest 9mm. I would grudgingly have to say:

Glock 19. I have a love hate relationship with it. Fit my hand like the wrong end of a baseball bat. But, they work, carry a good supply of ammo. Reliable, don’t break. Don’t rust. Plenty accurate, reasonably priced. Mines an ancient Gen2.
Sig P226
Sig P225
HKP7/M8 (phenomenal gun. Just a laser)
Sig P229
Sig P239 ( my usual carry gun, off duty)
Browning High Power (old school coolness)
Kahr T9 THE best fitting gun I’ve ever held. Period.
Walther P1. Got it cheap when they were imported. Decent old gun.
Luger. ‘Cause, it’s a Luger.

And, I just realized, I have exactly 10 9mm’s.

I have to agree, just shouting out your favorite 9mm gun, does not make it to the top 10. Some have no idea what a good 9mm pistol is all about. We did get more than a few who knew what we were looking for. Sig, CZ, Beretta, and a few others. Putting them in order will be a poll, but I fear will will get more of the same. Everybody has a favorite, but do they have enough guns to know what a great 9mm feels and shoots like? The Sig P226 Legion, is rock solid, and a contender for being on the list, same for CZ 75, and Possibly the Beretta 92.

Your Sig P226 legion, and the CZ 75 belong on the, and probably the Beretta 92FS, not the M9.
