I need to set up a "payment gateway" to accept payments on Gun Broker, since PayPal isn't an option. I don't have a lot of stuff to sell, just accessories here and there so I don't need anything fancy. Can you guys point me in the direction of a good "gateway" that's safe, easy to use, and doesn't kill you with fees?

As said, USPS money order. Cash it first then send items.
And note in the sale posting that the shipping will be: "..... *???* business days following confirmation of funds." Gives you time to ascertain that it is in fact, an authentic USPS MO.

Todd.

Yep, USPS money order is what I use for buying and selling there. Just feels like a much safer way of completing the transaction for both parties.

Hate to sound stupid, but how long does it take to find out if it's authentic? I didn't even know that USPS had money orders. I sell quite a bit on fleabay and have had PayPal forever - so I've never dealt with any other form of payment....

Check with your local post office or wherever you plan to actually cash that money order. I realize money orders are supposed to be "as good as cash" but I have had major problems getting any of my local post offices to actually convert postal money orders to actual cash, as in spending money that I can spend or otherwise use for goods and services.

None of my local post offices have much cash on hand. Over $100? forget about it. They laughed at me.

I realize not everyone will have that problem but I don't know how things work for you in Eastern MO.

Deposited and cleared. Banks are on the fakes instantly. As with phony traveler's checks - they almost never get past the first hand-off.
