Here in NW Pennsylvania it's not unusual to have cold temps and snow by now. It was 42 degrees in Saturday, so a friend and I got in some range time.
Here are the guns we brought: on top is a S&W 442, below left is a S&W Highway Patrolman with a Ruger SR9c below that. In the right are a S&W model 64 and a Springfield Armory XD Mod2 in 45
Here is our range setup for the day. We have 5 steel plates to shoot at as well as the 2 target stands. From our farthest shooting point it's 100 feet to the 2 plates on the cliff face. We shoot all our guns r this range, even the j frames and little 380s

Here my buddy is shooting a drill I made up with his XD. When the shooter is ready, "Threat!" Is called. As shooter begins drawing his gun, 2 colors are called. Shooter has to put 2 shots into each color called as quickly as possible. This drill makes you listen for and think about the colors while you are drawing, when most are focusing on a good draw. Real life you don't get to focus on a good draw. It also makes you think about and have to find the colors while presenting the gun. This makes you have to find a target that might not be quite where you thought it was and be particular about your target among other things that look kinda like targets
Finally, here I am shooting my 1955 built Highway Patrolman. Those plates at 100 feet are just too easy with this
