I heard about this earlier today and did a search here and didn't see anything.

Basically, it is a repeal of the restrictive gun control bill I-1639, which was put into effect this year.

Text of the initiative:

I'm still trying to find a link somewhere online where I can sign a petition to support it. So far, I've just found physical locations around the state, and none near me.

We, as a group, really need to get behind this. I've signed, told people about it, even put it in the hands of a politician.

I know we don't do politics here, but this initiative is important.

I hope the mods let this one run a while. Discuss the merits of this. Please avoid the whole D vs R slurs. Lets get the word out.

Thank you Gentlemen.

Unless the make-up and of the state government has changed, I don't see it going anywhere.

Unfortunately, not a snowball's chance in Hell. And I signed the petition. Rather than go right for repeal they should go after the most intrusive parts, like the HIPAA waiver. That could be couched in such a way as to make any mandatory HIPAA waiver as a condition for the exercise of rights illegal. A lot of people could understand that. Gun-wise though, it's nothing but further restrictions from here on out. That's realistic, not pessimistic.

Picked up a petition today. I should have it filled by next week by all my pro freedom co-workers!!!
You can help the movement by picking one up too at your local participating sporting goods store or pawn shop and taking it to a place where you know people want this to happen, but are to lazy to find a place to sign on their own.
