I don't know what I'm thinking, but some of your honest help will be much appreciated. I'm down to a handful of Pistols. Sig P229, H&K VP9, CZ P07, and a CZ 75D-PCR.

I have come to the conclusion that my two favorites are both of my CZs. There is nothing I dislike about them. They play two roles, both for CCW and fun to shoot target guns. Now, a very good friend of mine shoots a ton on quality guns including the Shadow 2. Now here's the deal, I'm thinking of selling both my Sig and H&K. Ergo, I replace them with a NIB CZ Shadow 2! I couldn't think of a better range gun at that price point. HELP!!!

Just keep the Sig and HK and buy the CZ.

Now wasn't that easy??

I'm a fan of that gun specifically, and also of the idea of having a smaller number of items (guns or anything else) that are exactly what you want, versus a larger number of things that are acceptable but not perfect.

I'm a huge fan of that too, but I haven't learned to practice it very effectively. :)

Based upon my somewhat related experience, if you like the PCR and the P07, you will like the Shadow even better as a range gun. I don't have a Shadow, but I have an 85 Combat and SP-01 which are worked to suit me with CGW parts, and while I like shooting my PCR (and P-01), the full size guns are a level above for actual shooting enjoyment for me.

Out of the box the Shadow 2 is one of the best values out of the box on the market today. I have one with a CGW Pro Package with a 10X bushing. It is a tack driver. It is heavy which helps recoil control and makes it a very flat shooting pistol. At about $1000 it is hard to beat. A $1000 1911 like a DW Vigil would also be in the ball park but you have to like the 1911.

I personally would save up and get one bs selling stuff but I can understand wanting it now.

While I would love to have a new CZ Shadow 2 I don't think I would want to sell my SIG P229, or anything else for that matter, to get it. If the gun was currently available at a local gun shop I would see if they have a layaway program. If not then I would put it on Visa and think of it as being an early Christmas present, for the next couple of years at least!

Thanks for all the help. I'm going to delay my decision until after the holiday season. Lord knows how much the credit card gets a workout buying for both kids and grandkids. Give me some time to really think about it. Happy Holidays!

The more I use my P07 the more it feels like a Colt Commander to me, albeit a polymer frame, double stack mag version that is!

I think this is like the third thread you've started where you have talked about selling your Sig and maybe your HK to fund something else. You keep coming back to the Shadow 2. There's nothing wrong with being a CZ exclusive shooter if they do everything right for you. But remember that you very recently bought that HK and seemed very enthused about it. I can't remember if you had the same reaction on your Sig, but I seem to remember you did.

So ask yourself, if you are already considering selling guns you seemed to really like very recently, is it really the guns you like or is it bringing home new toys, and then the glamor wears off? I'm not saying it is that, just that your pattern may indicate it, and asking yourself the question may be a good idea. Sometimes it takes a few attempts to figure out what works for you. I have found when I am looking for a particular gun, I really enjoy the pursuit almost as much as actually bringing the gun home. Then once I shoot it, my enthusiasm either grows, or I consider selling it. That's usually around round count 1000 for me. If I'm not enthused, it goes in the trade category. You may really enjoy buying and selling guns, and that's fine if it isn't hurting you financially.

I recently thought about trading away several guns I owned in the idea of limiting my numbers and focusing on guns I really want for one reason or another. However, another forum member suggested I stop and think about each individual gun, and the reason I had originally purchased each of them. It was good advice, as I realized I the reasons I had bought them were still valid and I'd regret trading them away. Do I need 20 different polymer striker fired 9mm's? Nope, but I like having one. Maybe take a minute and consider redundancy in your lineup, and it'll help you decide.

As far as making a decision after the holidays...………….. you've already made the decision. You want a Shadow 2. You're getting a Shadow 2. The only question is how.

To be honest, I like mine enough I've been thinking about trading my VP9 towards a second one meant for nightstand duty. I would kind of want night sights on it.

I'm in favor of selling the guns that don't excite me to maybe have fewer guns that do excite me. Sig 229 and Hk VP9 are nice guns but not in the same league as a CZ shadow 2.

I would like to ad a Sig P210 to the collection but I have no guns currently I would sell to get it. I will have save up to get it.

You don’t yet have a BHP or a 9mm 1911 with target sights, but you’re adding another CZ? Works for me, but you could work on getting these other 2.

I'm in favor. I've got an xds 4" barrel 9mm. Hk vp9 (wife's) sig max Michel 1911 45, walther pk380 (wife's), cz scorpion (wife's),cz sp01 tactical 9mm, cz shadow 2.

Sold my sig p320 vtac for the shadow 2 after saving some money on top.

I couldn't stand combat sight picture and it was my only firearm that had them. It made sense to get what I wanted. It was my first firearm with the sig sight picture and it made me realize that I didn't want it. I also didn't want to change the sights as the vtac sights were part of the appeal to the firearm.

Each gun has an appeal and some may have an issue or two that isn't a deal breaker but is notable. The shadow 2 has been an incredible firearm for accuracy and quality. Even not worked over by a Smith the action is great! Low recoil by far.

I recommend owning one.

As far as your selling, your call. I think waiting through the holidays will give you the time to allow the idea to be confirmed ir changed.

Good luck!
