bad? Is it requiring them to not carry while at their duty station? Thanks.

Why do judges get the ability to have firearms when no one else in a court facility is allowed to have one? (Goes to a 'special' class of people)

As we see all the time state legislators haven't clue one what the actual laws are, hence you have stupidity like this. Your tax dollars hard at work!
Got that right! I live in Fl (if you couldn't guess by my screen name) and seeing this stupidity at all levels of government.

As I like to point out to people, I have one prejudice and that's stupidity.

Take for example the latest Cali shooting in Santa Clarita, for example. I have seen in social media and on television calls for more gun control because of this tragedy. Only thing is, shooter was 16, last time I looked a 16 year old wasn't legal to buy a gun, shooting a gun in town at all is illegal and definitely killing people with one is illegal.

I think it has more to do with the state and local governments being able to prosecute people for the violations than having to depend on the feds to do it for a federal violation since that prosecution rarely happens. That's the basics that I got from one of our local lawyers who knows more about it than I do. Thus the redundancy.

In reference to Virginia Bills.

As with most states and our federal government bills go through one or more various committees in each side of congress (house and senate) before being voted on by the general assembly. Even then various amendments and changes can end up being voted on by various committees and even the general assembly makes its final vote to send over to the other side.

Even when a certain party be it Democrat or republican has the majority control in either house or senate, sometimes the committees that review these bills have control by the minority of the chamber that the committee is in.

What would be nice to know is if any of those committees that will be reviewing the bills in either chamber has a republican majority on those committees?

In Virginia, is it possible for the Republicans in either the house or senate to stop these bills from passing, even if every Democrat votes yes I. Support of the bills? My family and I are afraid there maybe no way to stop the Democrats short of going to court?

It is interesting to note if you look down the lists for each state of proposed gun laws, between “red” bills and “green” bills.

Some states seem to only have “red” bills proposed, a few states only “green” bills, or even predominately one or the other, with just one or two bills of the opposite type. But the vast majority seem to be heavier with red bills then green bills.

it is also nice to see a couple of states that if all their green bills pass, it will automatically kill all the red bills.

Example is MO HB1630 And SB588. It would be awesome to see other states propose and pass bills like these. I have copied off these bills to send to our Texas legislatures, and governor, as well my family member in Oklahoma to give to the state senator they work for as an option in Oklahoma.

It is nice to see Oklahoma and Ohio with no red bills, or extremely few.
I know some of the red bills in Oklahoma have died thankfully. I have a family member who works for a State Senator in Oklahoma.

Texas isn’t listed above in any of the lists for those of you wondering, because 2020 is an off year for our legislatures. They won’t be meeting again until Jan 2021, but can prefile any bills as early as November 1st of this year.

Luckily this year Texas passed 10 pro gun bills, and killed off all anti gun bills. Sadly our constitutional carry bill got killed when an idiot threatened a couple of our state legislatures. However, thankfully, that bill will be reintroduced and pre-filed in the 2021 term, along with several other similar pro gun bills that are currently being considered as well in Oklahoma, Mo, AZ and Ohio.

Providing that there aren’t any major changes in the 2020 election to our state government, there is a very good chance, (barring idiots of course) that we Texans will have another good Pro gun year next year.

However, with that being said, we Texans need to stay vigilant and make sure that we vote correctly in 2020 and keep our politicians on the right track!

Normally the majority party controls all of the committees, 99% of these bills will go through the 'judicial' committee (or as it's called in Virginia the 'Courts of Justice' committee) which has a makeup of 13 Democrats and 9 Republicans. Now that's not to say some of those Democrats might be pro-gun but just a cursory look at the makeup of the committee tells me quite a few of these bills could make it out of committee in the House of Delegates

Here's the official list of committee members: https://virginiageneralassembly.gov/house/members/members.php?committee=H08

Well if Democrats outnumber the republicans on the committee then I wouldn’t be surprised if it did make it out.
