I got to thinking about the deals you can get in .40 S&W Pistols right now. What deals have you seen? I will start.

LGS
New-In-Box
Glock 22-4 with Night Sights $369.99

I was going to suggest Gen3 Glock 22 police trade-in but that is pretty good.

Gen3 Glock 22 with 2 mags for $269 - https://www.kingsfirearmsonline.com...two-15rd-magazines-police-trade-in-item-tspw2

Gen4 Glock 22 with 2 mags/night sights for $289 + free shipping - https://peakfirearms.com/police-trade-in/glock-22-gen-4-police-trade-in.html

And speaking of deal, add a 40-9 conversion barrel from BCA for $42.99 shipped and you got a 9mm range blaster for cheaper practice - https://www.bearcreekarsenal.com/bc...-9mm-conversion-barrel-stainless-steel-finish

Apologizing to the OP... the police turn-in 40's are very cheap right now. My Glock 22, Sig P229, Beretta 96, and Beretta PX4 were all about $300 OTD or less.

I owned one of the SD40VE's. They are typically under $300 NiB. The trigger on mine was stiffer than I prefer, but it was completely reliable.

Does RIA still make 1911's in 40 caliber? I paid around $350 for mine and really like it.

Yes, I can get used G22 Police Trade-ins for $279 but a New G22-4 with Night Sights for $369 99 seems like a pretty good deal.

Agreed. It seems like a good time for pistol shopping, lots of good deals out there. :)

Holiday sale at LGS 40SDVE $200 nib, that was better than what I paid 6 or 7 years ago and it still shoots good

I personally carry glock. But u know the deals there it seems. All the trade ins ive bought have been in great shape after cleaning.

A couple more options...

Cdnn has CPO 229s or 226 for 440

I bought a cpo 320 with siglites for 300 on gunbroker and still see them

S&W M&P Shield .40s are about $300 and that would be a new gun with a great S&W warranty. The M&P line is very well proved.

If you can live with a 1.0 they are under $200 after rebate. I find the narrow grip makes them less comfortable than the slightly wider .45 to shoot though.

Most police trade in with night sights are faded and no longer glowing, I'd rather pay some more and have new sights.

Yep the new G-22 4th Generation sounds like a great deal.

Not new but CDNN had a lot of Sig CPO's in .40. Both the P-series pistols & the P-320 variants.

4 of the last 5 I've bought had what had to have been new night sights on them. I'd guess that the departments changed them pretty often. The other one was a usp from 1994 which I'd bet had the original sights. They were gone but the gun was 98 percent at least and I'm not sure it had left the box.

Stop it, remember, .40S&W is DEAD. Don't you believe the Internet commandos? Everyone here needs to send me their .40S&W guns and ammo. I will ensure proper disposal.

Same here. If they had that where I lived I would be all over it. I could likely find something online similar but not locally where I can just walk in and leave with it. I also wouldn't be surprised if deals like that start showing up everywhere. The downward pressure on quality firearms prices, especially new polymer pistols , used 40 S&W metal service pistols and AR-15's is so intense I don't think I have ever seen anything like this in 25 years of firearms ownership.

Comically, I can walk in Smokey mountain guns and ammo or buds (which are 2 minutes apart) and look at these deals in 1.75 hours drive time. Or be in cabelas or bass pro in 1.5 hrs drive (10 minutes apart but in 2 different states) sadly they are in TN and VA so I cant buy a handgun from them (but I can buy a long gun), being from NC even though it's an Nics check and supposed to be federal. So I have to order them online......from TN (kings) or Indiana (recoilgunworks) (or wherever cdnn is) crazy laws I think. It would be nice to hand pick but I've yet to feel like I got a gun not exactly as described.
Then I ship them to the highest local place and drive by 4 or 5 cheaper ones (30 dollars transfer) just because i like them. Lol

I bought a glock 22 gen 4 trade in like new with 3 mags. for $309. & a Sig 226 night sights and one piece grip for $279 with 3 mags. No brainer.

and one piece grip for $279

226 is one of my favorite guns. All the 22x series actually but what do you think of the e2 grip. And have you used the regular grip a lot? I bought one the other day as well....I hate it. Im going to go to the standard grip like all my other sigs have. I like the texture but I hate the size and shape. Only one person that's tried it preferred it. And she is 5 foot 1 with short fingers.

The E2 grip fits my hand better than the standard. I have medium hands. I gave the Sig to my son as I never could get past the d/a to s/a thing. I shoot my glocks much better.
