Hard to tell from the pics., but. It looks like the extractor is slightly angled from the tip back to the rest of the part! I had a problem like that on another firearm and filed the extractor so that is was at least parallel to the inside of the rim. Making sure that there were no sharp angles other than at the tip. That or another , new, extractor may solve the issue. Do not know about the issue of bulging cases.
Sorry if this is not clear, my descriptive verbage lacks clarity sometimes :)

Just an up date. Thanks to all for the time and replies.
The owner of the LGS told my son to take the piece to a gunsmith, he supplied the name and phone number and have him charge it back to him(the shop owner).
The gun was used so think that was decent.

Anyway Monday we will try four more brands with both bullet weights. What I’ve gleaned from here and YouTube it’s most likely the extractor spring, external extractor, in this case. If the problem persists it’s off to the gs.

Monday’s range visit was a bust. Five different brands including Blazer aluminum (?).
It’s off to the gunsmith.
