Legalized pot and your firearms?

My dad is on CBD oil for his arthritis and I give it to my old dog for his. It really does work.

I live in a state where pot is legal. I don't partake. My girlfriend has a vape thing with CBD oil that is THC free. She uses it to help her sleep on occasion. I've tried it and it does work.

My employer has a strict drug policy with random drug testing, so although I agree with the apparent benefits of it medicinally, I know that if I used it, then when I fill out the federal form and check the box "no" asking if I am a user of illegal substances, then I would be lying.

It really is a question of federal law vs. state law and the great legal minds on here can pontificate on it endlessly and with great effect.

I think new York said if your on it that gives them the right to take are guns. Not one to ware a tinfoil hat. But it sure seems like a loop hole to take are guns rights away.
It's that way everywhere. They have the right to take them because you are an illegal user/ addicted to a illegal substance according to the Federal government.

This has been discussed in various ways in other threads and other forums. The bottom line is that federal law still says that possessing a firearm is illegal if you use marijuana, regardless of state law. Does not matter if your marijuana is medical or recreational.

Even though pot is legal here in Colorado I do not have a problem with it interfering with my firearms. Never have, never will. Addictions are too easy to start and too hard to stop and my firearm collecting requires all of my spare time.
