Best pocket pistols survey

A pocket pistol survey needs entries for J frame type revolvers, unless you mean pistol to disqualify wheel guns. Also missing are the LCPs, Glock 42s and other 380s. So I don't get the list. It certainly isn't representative of the current market selection. You have left out the most popular guns, IMHO.

best in what way? high capacity, caliber, size and shape, ease of carry, price points, all of the above, something else?

I know you said you couldnt include them all but the some of the keltecs especially the p32 and some of the Rugers 380s are quite popular and should deserve a spot. I often carry a p32 due to its size and ease of use. I voted for another pocket carry i sometimes carry in .380 but when it comes to size and ease and comfort little beats the p32.

My choice is the Diamondback DB9. Light, accurate, and a good trigger. Good price too.

For pocket carry the LCP. Cheap, mines been reliable, small enough to easily pocket carry. Anything bigger than it goes IWB or OWB

A lot of those pistols listed are TOO BIG for pocket carry.........tried it with a shield...........ridiculously big.

If you can’t list the conmon 380s, you aren’t getting useful info.

The only pocket pistol on that list is the P238. I prefer the LCP. I've tried to pocket carry the micro 9's, but they're just too large and get hung up on the draw.

I voted Kahr for my CM9 but I also pocket carry a KelTec P3AT, a Colt Mustang, and a SIG P238 at times.

None are “true” pocket guns

I didn't vote for any as I don't consider any of them pocket pistols. Even my Kahr CM9 is too big for my pocket. My currently carried pocket pistols are:
DB9 - The largest of my guns that I can pocket carry.
LCP
P32
NAA 22 revolvers

Anything bigger than these are subcompacts and carried IWB.



The CZ 45 (25 acp) was my first pocket pistol. It was supplanted by the NAA Guardian (32 acp). Which was supplanted by the LCP which I still carry some times. The P32 (grey) is what I carry at work everyday in my secure office enviroment.

To me a pocket pistol is a pistol that can actually be carried in and drawn from a pants pocket.

Polish Radom P-64, in 9mm Makarov. About 200 bucks, all metal, decocker safety, DA/SA, hammer fired.

All in a convenient PPK-style pocket size.

Since no one mentioned mine, I will. My six day a week is a Rohrbaugh R9. On Sundays as part of the security committee I carry a S&W 910 with two spare magazines, it is not in my pocket, but is concealed. It's really not whats the best. It is what an individual prefers.

Ruger LCP for me.

As others have said, the list is lacking and aren't really "pocket" pistols. Subcompact does not equate to pocket pistol.

My Walther PPS-M2 is my own choice

Ruger LCP ll is my current favorite.

Agree, and anything larger won't play nice with my pockets. I own and carry a Shield too and there's no way that's a pocket pistol, at least in my estimation.

LCP is the only "pocket gun" I've tried that actually works in my pockets.

So that one.

Most of the guns on that list I'd have to wear on the belt if I didn't want huge bulges in my pockets, I've tried.

I did notice his list seemed to be Subcompact and Compact Pistols but apparently his pockets are larger than mine.
I often carry an LCP in my R. Hip Pocket in a Pocket Holster but it's not on the list and none that are will fit.

I know it didn't say revolvers but if you were looking at the total picture, why leave them out? The auto list was too limited.

You know you pretty much told a moderator to F.O.?

My pockets hold a Taurus TCP or a Beretta 950BS 25 auto. Thats all I own that will fit in my pockets in the way of autos.

Also the poll options don't include any that I would consider a picket pistol, like the P3at.

I probably have more pocket pistols than any other format yet not a single one that is on your list. One thing that is always with me and has been for many, many decades is a pocket pistol. The smallest and among the oldest is now 114 years old and still super reliable. The newest is only a couple years old.
