Back in the 10 MM game

Welcome back to the fold. Nice gun. I hope you enjoy it, but I have a feeling you will.

I'm going the 400 Cor-Bon/40 Super route.
I tried the .400 Corbon 20+ years ago, and eventually sold it off. The neck is just way too short to provide adequate bullet tension. One round might chamber fine, and the next might shove the bullet back into the case, resulting in a way overpressure round.

I had issues with both reloads and factory ammo.

I was shooting in a 1911. Some other design may feed more gently and not shove the bullet back into the case... or maybe not.

Just be aware. I’m much happier now with a 10mm.

If I were limited to only one pistol cartridge, it would be the 10mm. Most flexible of all the autoloader cartridges - it can be a lot of different things. If handloaders were 30+% of the shooting population, 10mm guns would probably sell similar volumes to 9mm.

I've had fun in past years with the 10MM and am excited to be back in it. Have several recipes that I've shot out of a G20 with a Storm Lake aftermarket barrel, a Witness and a 1006 that I'm gonna work back up for the 1911.

Yeah, there ya go--congratulations! I love the Parkerized style on these RIAs and well, it's a 1911. Have fun!

I'm aware of "cons" of 400 Cor-Bon, but for my purposes the "pros" outweigh the "cons". ;)

Agreed. If I could only have a single pistol, it'd be a 10mm 1911.

Delta Elite and Kimber eclipse plus are great shooters in my experience.

Got that same gun, the RIA. It's a pleasure to shoot but had to go back to the factory for mag problems. They fixed it . Now it runs well.

Took it to the range with some Magtec 180 gr JHP and had several failure to feeds. One mag would run fine, another would hang up on occasion while another hung 4 of 8 rounds. Brought it home and polished up the feed ramp. Seems the ramp is a bit rough so we’ll see if that helps.

Gonna load up some FMJ and 180 gr XTP’s and see how it feeds.

Have you tried any other mags in it? I might try the Wilson Combat 9 rounders.
