With the escalation of tension between Iran and the US, some have raised the possibility of sleeper cells in the US being activated by Tehran...

I have no idea how credible those concerns are, or exactly how one is supposed to prepare for an attack by a terrorist sleeper cell, or if even such a cell would bother with an attack on civilians and instead focus on attacks that target military installations or possibly power grid infrastructure.

Seems like having an AR or AR pistol handy in the rig would either be prudent or just increase the chances of it being stolen...

Not sure if I'll do anything more than try to be more observant. I'm confident in my current carry guns with 10 rounds of .40 S&W or 15 rounds of 9mm.

Thoughts?

I'm just going to keep on keeping on. Until something actually happens here. Then I will consider the threat to me and those around me and make a decision. We all like to think we will rush in to save the day. Chances are very good if you rush in you will be killed or maimed. That's not to say if the guy standing next to you opens up. Tackle him if you can if not run. If anything I might buy a vest.

No changes here. Not because I think it's impossible for something to happen here, or because I'm waiting to see something actually go down in my area before I'll take precautions, but because I'm already prepared to the level I consider to be reasonable. Any level of preparation I can attain will have some limitations and the current set of limitations associated with my preparedness level are what I consider to be a reasonable balance against the cost of preparation.

Due to my work hours I'm rarely at places during times when anybody would bother to commit a terrorist act. If I were Hezbollah, I wouldn't waste my time shooting up a grocery store with nobody in it at 6am.

That having been said, back during the Obama administration when Aloha Snackbar was getting to be a thing, I switched to a 3 1/2" M1911 loaded with 200gr Gold Dots.

No change here. Shield + 2 spare mags and a knife. Given my routine and usual attire, moving up to a bigger pistol, more mags, a taser, a tourniquet, bear spray and a partridge in a pear tree just isn't feasible.

In my St.Louis area world that I see everyday, it looks like I am much more exposed to physical harm from a millennial texting while they are supposed to be driving, a drunk/ high driver or a minority gang/ drug-related gunfight - the kill box that I am exposed to everyday doesn’t seem to ever have any Muslim extremist activity. In turn, I am not sure that I could find the time to protect myself from a Muslim extremist because I am too busy trying to survive the other exposures in my kill box. While my fellow Americans are trying to hurt me everyday, the St. Louis area Muslim extremist kind of keep to themselves.

I was talking to my granddaughter last night while teaching her to reload. She says that there is a lot of fear on social media over attacks in NY. I told her that in this part of the state EE don't have to worry much about it, but larger population centers like NYC would. Also said that, not to offend le or military personnel, that we ate our first and best line of defense because there are not enough law enforcement officers to protect the whole population. Then told her to post on social media that it's a good time to arm yourselves against such threats.

Also that the time has come for those in fear to exercise their 2a rights.

When fake news says be afraid, collapse into a fetal position in the nearest corner and cry uncle until the police arrive to help you.

Seems like having an AR or AR pistol handy in the rig would either be prudent or just increase the chances of it being stolen...

It's always prudent and it always increases the chances of it being stolen unless your vehicle is within your sight at all times.
