Started back on this old project. I had some pierced primers. Before shortening the spring a bit I considered whether the 22 cartridge was really seated into the 30 caliber “dummy” round. I seated them gently with a press to ensure they sat against the shoulder. There was some “stickiness” in the last 1/16” that makes it hard to seat with thumb pressure. No piercing. I will have to take the dummy rounds and make sure that they are fully cleaned up any cosmoline that is possibly causing the interference.

It is quite an endeavor to convert in this day and age. Parts, especially the block are hard to source from NOS when these conversions were made. It then needed to be converted to semi. Overall a great build but these1919’s can be finicky and getting a 22 to operate correctly was a lesson in patience

Looks fantastic, all hail Carbine Williams and his work..

When you load the belt do you have to use the cloth belt, or can you use the metal links???

More information would be nice. I’m still feeding mine “free” bullets from LNL’s bought and sold but always thought the .22 stuff was interesting,

You can use metal or cloth.
Thanks.. I have only seen people using the cloth.. I have not see metal links used.. Do you have a 22 conversion bolt or did you convert a 30 cal bolt?? Also I gots to know how many 22 conversion cartridges do you have??

I have the complete 22 bolt OEM but then sent out for semi conversion.

I would say 250-300?? dummy rounds?

Note the milling on block on right to lighten, this is done throughout the block

Very nice.. thanks for the bolt photos. Even with the extra metal being removed from the bolt it is near freaking magic that that little 22 has the strength to cycle the 1919 action. Does show the power of the 22.
