I came to Glocks late, after years of 1911’s, hipowers, Beretta’s, and a SIG, amongst others. The G17 became my favorite the first time I took it to the range. I liked its handling, reliability, weight, and how well it shot. I really liked how simple it is, and it’s ease of detail stripping. That is reminiscent of the 1911, except it adds drop in parts, which isn’t always the case with 1911’s.
I quickly added a G26, and was surprised when I found I shot it as well as, or better than the HiPower I shot for decades. I’ve often said the G26 is the last pistol I’d sell.
Completely satisfied with those two, and with the 9mm for my needs, I wasn’t planning on getting any other Glocks.
But I couldn’t resist the cheap police surplus .40’s...
Ended up buying a like new Gen4 G22 for less than $300. That pistol is just great...it quickly became my house pistol, loaded with 180gn HST. Really enjoy shooting it.
Still, if I had to choose...G26.

So basically from this little scenario I've learned that there is no real clear cut winner. Maybe I should have started a vote. From what I can tell probably the G19 would be the winner?

But as a jack-of-all-trades... for the masses.
The G19 - could be the only service pistol produced in the world, and the world would be fine.
I think that the G23.4 is the next rung up the marksmanship/performance ladder... but not by much.

After giving it some thought I have decided that my Glock 26 is going to be my primary carry gun.
I already carry it the overwhelming
majority of the time anyway. I carry the 19 maybe one day a week now and I think I'd be better off just carrying the 26 all the time and retiring the 19 to home defense status.

Glock is the Chuck Norris of guns. They do not fail. EVER. You could dip a Glock in Gorilla Glue and roll it in sand and it would still function flawlessly.

Glocks aren't bad guns but Walter PP9 or PPQ, M&P 2.0, CZ P10C or Canik TP9, sorry.
Why did you have to ruin it by mentioning canik in that lineup? Of the 4 caniks I’ve been around, 3 had drastic failures in stressful training: many caniks won’t fire if the trigger is pushed sideways... full trigger travel but no activation of the sear. Doesn’t show up during target practice but once your heart rate is up and you’re rolling on the ground or shooting from an awkward position... not even a click; it just won’t work. That to me is a no-go and I try to steer others away from using caniks as carry guns. If you have a canik your better trying pushing your trigger in less than perfect directions and see if it still works.

Did the same with my G36 for carry and G23.4 for HD.
Like the consistent and predictable feel and handling, and only change when need or concealment requirements dictate.
When I do carry the SIG P-938, I'm less comfortable with it, even though it's smaller and lighter.

I wonder what Glock would say if they could only Manufacturer one model? 9mm is the most versatile cartridge and used more by military, Police and civilians than any other. What model of Glock is used for training than all the others. Police, Security Guard companies etc? What model has a dedicated 22.cal for training to all? I believe there is a reason that Glock manufactured the New 44 and choose the 19 as the model.
My guess is that Glock would say "let's build the G17." I don't have any hard numbers, but my guess is that's the most popular 9mm model with police, and police are Glock's bread and butter.
