Took my Uberti to the range today. I purchased it new and I've put probably 100 rounds through this revolver. Today, when shooting handloads, I noticed that 2 out of 25 had off-center primer strikes.

This is the new Uberti with the retracting firing pin "safety" feature.

Timing problem? Should I be sending it back to Uberti?

Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem with a Pietta once... The top of the bolt was not well adjusted to the cylinder notches and a slight finger pressure on the cylinder on some chanbers would unlock it. Make sure the cylinder is well locked on all six chambers. Maybe the bolt is slightly too wide. Do not shoot it like that. It is also possible that the bottom part of the hand is a tad too short.

Gil.

i replaced my retractable firing pin and trigger with the old style from taylor. works perfect now. if i buy another uberti with the retractable firing pin, out it comes and a old style trigger and hammer go in.

I bought a Flat Top Uberti in '18 and it came with the RFP. I ordered a new trigger and a hammer with the pivoting block, but have yet to replace them. Hate to mess with success. ;)

if it works dont mess with it, if it stops working, you have the parts to fix it. mine never worked until i replaced the hammer and trigger.
