Who has completed their Gun Collection? - No more guns to buy

I have one of everything I want. Working on spares for each and more ammo and mags.

I'm getting close I think. I'm finding firearms I can't remember buying. Found a gen 3 Glock 19 in back of safe. Also a charter .38 undercover. At the top of my closet. Decided to do a deep clean only found those. Will not tell wife. That would be the end of me buying.

That's funny.

Mostly, I’m tuning now. I have fewer guns than I did a couple years ago, but I continue to keep my eyes open for good deals or new ideas. I need nothing. I might try PRS when I reach retirement; then I’ll need a purpose-bought 6mm Creedmoor.

I would like only a couple hundred more guns and my collection will be complete. Unless something new comes out in the time it takes me to get there. Realistically I couldn't afford to wear out half the guns I own and all my bases are covered a couple times over. Like @Armored farmer said, I'm getting quality over quantity these days and that's a beautiful thing.

Yes, it seems.

The last Enfield, SKS, Makarov, even a pair of very nice 1994 Sigs etc are gone. These were sold to finance the majority of the costs of several other guns, when interests changed.
But the newer Sigs are now a P6 ('80: I changed the mainspring) and a P225 ('87), and the only new rifle is a brand-new VZ-58 by CSA (Czech).

The Service Grade plus the S.G. Special--which I never shot--Garands were 'overkill' for the 50 and 25 yard (Action Pistol) ranges' berms. So they were sold, along with the Mausers etc.

I always sell - buy - sell. My needs change, my wants change, I'm willing to lose money (which I always do) when I sell so that it goes towards funding the next toy. Unlike a car, they don't let you test drive before you buy so sometimes what feels right in the gunstore doesn't really work out later.

I’m fully into sell-mode right now. I don’t see myself buying anything this year. Maybe acquiring through trade if what I’m selling isn’t moving. First of three started college this year. That puts financial flexibility into a whole new category.

However, I am very satisfied with what I have. I have a few fantastic 1911s, shotguns for games and game, plinkers, CCWs that I am confident in, and one or two with a magazine hanging out of the bottom. On top of the above financial constrictions, I don’t get excited about new releases any longer.

I started my life with 1903's and 1911's, currently have none, but think that 1911's and BHP are the bee's knees. CZ-82/83, Beretta 70 & 81, Colt 1903 and Baby Brownings, Ruger Security Six, Colt Python, Lawman and Trooper, early Dan Wessons and Smith Model 10's are all the things that made guns wonderful. I currently own none of the above, times have changed, munitions are better and practicality rules my life. It was a good run, still is sometimes but now, as I fall deeper into the world of becoming disabled, my physical abilities change my capabilities. Probably end up with a tip-up barrel .32 but I'm not quite there yet. All I know is before the coroner red tags my toe, he's going to find "my leetle friend" in my pocket, might be my 340 (lucky him).

I'm not done, but, I've told myself I'm done for awhile.

I have a solid collection for my uses.

Now I'm accessorizing what I own. Had am sp01 tactical get the pro package at cajun gun. Just sent off my shadow 2 to primary machine to have the slide lightened and a trijicon SRO milled in with black nitride coating.

Considering a 4x fixed scope for my 44 mag.

Uhmm.... nope, not done

I've told this story a bunch of times but as briefly as possible I went through the collector phase twice and I ended up dumping every thing at a loss twice and starting over.

When I started over I had a plan and after some refinement I stuck to it.

I currently have a Glock 19 and a Glock 26 and a Ruger LC9 that I inherited from my wife when she bought her Glock 43. I carry the LC9 when I can't get away with anything bigger which only happens once or twice a year.

I would like to sell the Ruger and buy a Glock 43 for standardization but I think I'd be better off just picking up 6 more magazines for it and going from there

For 2019, I bought 2 and sold 12, so negative 10. I still have all my needs covered. Only thing I'm thinking about adding is a CZ75SP01. If I get that, my collection will be complete... until I get tired of one of mine or see something else that I need/want.

I didn't think that was even possible. As my interests evolve I might trade or sell some firearms that I no longer have interest in, but until it becomes impossible to purchase and own firearms, I doubt I'll ever be "done."

Anything I want I got and I'm not interest in all the newfangled whiz bang crap that gets introduced every 6 months and gets recalled 6 months after that cause it fires when drops

I never thought I had a collection or was a collector. I did not buy any firearms for over 15 years. I had the basics, a 22, a deer rifle, and a shotgun. With my girls getting older I bought myself a new rifle, then myself a handgun and I started to reload. It’s been a spiral since then. Still not a collector, and I would not call what I have a collection. My purchases since that first handgun and reloading have increased in frequency so I guess I am not done.

I've completed my collection several times. That said, my collection is shrinking. Lots of stuff that rarely got used has gone to another home in the last few years. But even at my age my interest in firearms is still evolving. So I'm still buying guns that fit my needs as they change.

I have quite a bit of stuff.
I tend to collect series of guns and buy them when i see a good deal.

currently i am buying gen 2&3 smiths. there seems to be an endless amount of different models. i may not live long enough to make it to gen 1;)
