Looking for a decently priced accurate 9mm

Won't go wrong with a CZ75, great pistol.
I've owned just about every 9mm that's been available over the last 40 years including the BHP but the 85Combat I purchased a decade ago is the most accurate I've ever owned which includes Berretta's Brownings, Walther's and Sigs.
The Sigs are just as accurate but don't have the same ergonomics, CZ's feel a lot like BHP's.
Not a fan of Glocks, don't care for striker fired, polymer guns, but that's just me.:D

Actually I found a few guns that I would recommend on the approved list: a CZ P01, a SIG P226, a SIG P229, and a SIG P2022. Granted they're all kind of pricey but they all would make for very nice range guns and should be capable of some decent accuracy. I would say save up and get a quality gun that has a proven track record and should provide you with many years of reliable service.

The SP2022 is pricey at $427?

The one I saw was priced over $600 but your right, that's a very nice price along with a spare 10 round mag!

I scanned through all of the posts and suggest a used S&W model 39, or 59 series as armed walleye suggested. However, I know not of this roster of which you speak. Oh, and I'm sorry you have a roster.

I will have to get to the gun shop one day soon. I'm trying to stay in a price range but I've been known to go over it in the past. I will probably start looking at stuff in the price range and it won't fit my hand and then I will end up with something like a Kimber or something twice the price I want to spend.

Unfortunately I'm in California also. The list is a travesty. You can however buy instate guns that are OFF roster. When I visit gun shops most of my time is spent in the secondhand case. Another great place can be Ca. gun shows.
Instate OFF roster guns however often demand a hefty premium. Local used Ruger MK series guns fetch 550-750.

I've seen the Beretta 92 I think at a local store. I was looking online tonight while my son was getting his hair cut I'm kind of curious about the Beretta 92, the cz 75 and possibly the the XD full size. Seems like there were maybe a couple of others. I made it into sportsman's Warehouse to get some bullets and primers but ran out of time so I was sitting next door looking at their website.

The whole roster thing makes me want to puke:barf:

It's totally BS in my opinion. As mentioned earlier by someone in this post about looking into revolvers. I have done that as well thinking sooner or later semi autos will probably become illegal in CA or unable to be purchased. I have bought two revolvers so far just in case so I won't be with out a pistol or be forced to be some kind of criminal if something like that happens.

As much as I love my G19, it wouldn't be my first choice for a target gun, and that's what this sounds like. A range gun to burn some ammo. The G19 is many things, and maybe my problem is that nut behind the trigger, but I've never gotten the best accuracy out of it. I'd give the CZs a hard look.

I read the "can not have" roster. there must be hundreds of pistols on that list!

I think everyone of the pistols I own is on there!

It's really hard to believe that there's people that can tell you what you can and cannot buy!

Time to move people, besides, California is going to fall off into the ocean one of these days.

Sig SP2022

I had one in .40 and traded it for a revolver. I have no regrets on the trade, but I also had no problems with the Sig either. I just like revolvers better.

The 2022 is very reasonably priced and the single action trigger was very nice. If I ever decide to get another autoloader, that's what it will be.
A real bargain at around 4 bills.

There are several good choices in 9mm out there and since you have the CCW covered you may wish to go for a full size 9mm to use as a home / range piece. Ruger CZ Canik FN S&W Kimber H&K all make high quality service weapons that will most likely outlive us. Look at how long Lugers and broom handled mausers are doing long after their original owners, not to mention their cost. You might also be into the classics like 1911 and BHP which are also chambered in 9mm and all metal. Hope this helps.

Sounds like the Beretta is worth looking into. I haven't really looked into it much but I'm also considering building a 9mm AR upper and buying a mag adapter or conversion magazine. I have several ARs so pulling two pins and swapping uppers is not huge deal.

I was actually thinking about that after my last post. I was thinking it takes me about 15 seconds to change buffers and springs. I was also thinking that I have another stripped lower that needs to be put together. I also have another stripped upper. all in all its justa few parts I need. I probably have enough spare parts to fill a lower minus the buffer system and a stock add a barrel and a bcg. I also have an extra m lok rail.

FYI, when building a pistol caliber carbine (PCC), make sure it is built as "featureless" and not "fixed magazine" configuration to comply with CA laws - https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/codes_displaySection.xhtml?sectionNum=30515.&lawCode=PEN

If built as "fixed magazine" PCC, you can only use 10 round magazines.

If built as "featureless", you can use 11+ round magazines you legally possess.

BTW, you can still get Thordsen FRS II stock kits for $50 (or use finned pistol grips with fixed or pinned adjustable stock for your featureless build) - https://www.thordsencustoms.com/frs-15-basic-stock-kit-od-green/.html

WAIT!.... does that also apply to AR15 shooting .223/5.56 or just PCC? Sorry for the dumb sounding question but that's the first time I have heard that.I converted all my ARs to fixed magazine and load then with a Mean loader through the ejection port.

IMG_20191110_143513556_HDR.jpg I've always been curious about the laws concerning the AR pistol but never really wanted one. If I do a 9mm AR it will be built using a 16 inch barrel and it will probably be featureless or use a AR mag lock.

I have several fin grips in my spare parts box because I hate them. When I started getting into the AR I built about 7 of them featureless and then learned about the mag lock. I have one remaining featureless rifle and I put the thordsen custom gen 3 stock on it. It looks kind of like a mini 14 crossed with an AR. Also it is using a side charging upper. Back last year I think it was April or May when you could buy a 30 round magazine in CA for like 3 days I bought a couple. Being scared that law enforcement may not be so smart I still have not used them.

:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

So to convert your "featureless" AR to PCC, you just need to change out the mag follower/spring with 9mm kit and replace buffer with heavier buffer to go with the 9mm upper.

Life is good. :D:D

Have you considered using CMMG 22LR conversion bolt in your AR to shoot 22LR? I only shoot CP 22LR in my ARs for training drills/plinking but they sure are fun plinkers - https://www.primaryarms.com/22BA6AE

22LR still cheap at below $20/500 - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...15-20-500-shipped.853059/page-3#post-11359991

Back last year I think it was April or May when you could buy a 30 round magazine in CA for like 3 days
It was from Friday afternoon, March 29 through midnight April 5th of 2019 for 7 days. And it was not just 30 rounds but ANY CAPACITY magazine - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/happy-days-in-ca.849757/page-4#post-11102503

Being scared that law enforcement may not be so smart I still have not used them.
That's why judge Benitez not only ruled but ruled WITH JUDGEMENT so his ruling went into effect immediately after ruling on Friday afternoon on 3/29/19 - http://michellawyers.com/wp-content...-2019-03-29-Order-Granting-Plaintiffs-MSJ.pdf

"IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that:

1. Defendant Attorney General Xavier Becerra, and his officers, agents, servants, employees, and attorneys, and those persons in active concert or participation with him, and those duly sworn state peace officers and federal law enforcement officers who gain knowledge of this injunction order, or know of the existence of this injunction order, are enjoined from enforcing California Penal Code section 32310.

2. Defendant Becerra shall provide, by personal service or otherwise, actual notice of this order to all law enforcement personnel who are responsible for implementing or enforcing the enjoined statute. The government shall file a declaration establishing proof of such notice. DATED: March 29, 2019"

And CA law enforcement had to enforce the ruling immediately and to this day, CA DOES NOT enforce the POSSESSION of larger than 10 round capacity magazines; only new sales, importation and manufacture.
