Perhaps I should go set up a gofund me site and post the link here, so you can all contribute to my ammo fund. I could quit my real job and be a range rat for the rest of my life.

You tube really pisses me off..... I think all of the tech. giants... Google, Apple and FB need to be split up as punishment for using their monopoly status to skew content.

They surely should not be trusted as arbiters of truth.

Time and market forces will take care of this.
Facebook's market share is dwindling, Apple is pricing itself out of the market and Google is busily irritating everyone by doing its best to be an evil shadow government in every part of the world while pretending to cater to those same governments. Also, folks are tired of having their personal information stolen and sold to the highest bidders.

Trust them? Most people can barely tolerate them!

I doubt it. Especially when it comes to the shooting sports. Bottom line is, youtube supporters pay their money to someone else to go and do their hobby for them, rather than they do their hobby for themselves.

As much as I enjoy some of these gun channels, why should I buy anyone's ammo? Shall I send you money so that you can go to the range for free, or worse, make a profit off me from going to the range? Why shouldn't I keep my money?

Let me put it this way: If you could choose to pay $20 a month to see one major box office movie, or support for $5 a month four different firearms related YouTube content providers, which expenditure of your funds (which was going to already go to visual entertainment of one kind of another, for the sake of this argument ) has more benefited the shooting community and YOU directly?

If you do, and present something interesting, educational, and unique, I’ll be happy to contribute.
As would I.
Im not trying to be a sarcastic when i say this. If you can provide me with content I find helpful, or educational, or even entertaining then ill happily contribute to your ammo budget.
Ill donate to C&Rsenal, because they DO that, even if I only watch 15 min

There is a problem in content creation in that it all looks far easier than it is.
The hours and hours of editing, of waiting on titles to upload, waiting on the vids to actually publish, the pressure of keeping to a schedule, all the myriad things that are the difference between good content and mediocre content.

Ok, let's say a person creates content of them drinking coffee for 15 minutes in the morning. Ok, easy, right?
Oops, battery just died in the camera. Start over.
Ok, good shoot, but, oops, the chip ate all bu t2 minutes of the recording.
Ok, camera rolling, fresh battery, fresh chip--coffee maker is broken.
Ok, get coffee from the shop down the road, set up, start filming, and the infil light burns out.

It's after ten, your coffee is cold, you have to wait for noonday sun and you have 130 seconds of content. Now what? Your 15 minutes of coffee drinking for your 252 viewers might only net you $1.37 in revenue from YT at the end of the month, but, you do it anyway, because the content is worth it to you. (Oh, and YT is hauling in about $150 per 15 minutes of watched video in sold advertising--this is all very much about the money.)

Why shouldn't I keep my money?

You should.
You just also shouldn’t be able to watch exactly what you want, right when you want it, for that.

If Idiottuub doesn’t want to pay the content provider for the ads I watch during their content, then they can be like USA. Remember them? They had “Wings” and, and, ...

Anyway, just like the cable companies, taking all our fees and paying for all the crap we hate, idiot box is doing the same.

If I watch an ad on Demolition Ranch, then Demolition Ranch gets the credit, not “Pink Hoodies for Social Justice”

“Paying for their range day”, so taxpayers must be paying for your ego? After all the kids get all the knowledge from the book, right?

You really think humans do that out of the kindness of their hearts? Or do you think it might, maybe, be the money?:scrutiny:

After watching people beg for money on Youtube in a few different sports, I've come to the conclusion that if you're dim enough to depend on a gun channel on Youtube for money, you're a few watts short of my money.
