what are we looking at here? It is beautiful. Lovely stock, nice engraving... but the only action parts I see is the mag tube in the butt. Does this cycle and eject thru the bottom?

Edit- and now I see an inlet in the side of the butt. Whats that? Stock screw? Shape of the stock makes the mag tube unusual too maybe?
Again, simply beautiful!

For those who don’t know that rifle is the Browning SA-22 (Semi-Auto-22). It can be loaded by removing the feed tube at the butt plate or through the stock’s inlet with the feed tube partially withdrawn from the stock.

Ejection is indeed accomplished through the bottom of the action making it ambi friendly as well as range friendly (no more hot brass bouncing off the side of the next guy's head).

@DM~ thank you for those beautiful pictures of an incredible rifle who’s design continues to define the word timeless.

Managed to load a pic of one of my favorites, Remington 540XR. This baby shoots.

Thanks Sky. The loading inlet is a really cool feature. I have an old marlin 88 that loads thru the rear. The side inlet would be great!

I love the little .22s. Just plain fun. Let's see some!
About twice a year I'll go to the range with one Husqvarna single-shot rifle and one box of ammo on one of my motorcycles.

Sadly, after years of operating, my importer has stopped bringing them in. After a couple of dozen, these two are the ones to make me happiest aesthetically and performance-wise.

After a bit of paper-punching, I'll end up shooting rocks and dirt-clods down the backstop.

VERY relaxing.

Todd.

Love that ammo box!

image.jpeg image.jpeg I guess maybe since I brought up no one posting lever actions maybe I should put up or shut up? From top to bottom a1957 Marlin model 57M ( technically it's 22mag) , a Sears 84C 22 lr . Both are part of the Levermatic series. Third one is a 1952 Marlin 39 a with Ballard rifling, and below it is a 1996 39 a with micro groove rifling. The 57M is the most accurate, but the 1952 39a is the lightest and most fun.
