Does anyone have any experience with Winchester/USA Forged Steel Case ammo? Particularly in 9mm in a compact handgun?

I've always avoided steel-cased ammo in my rifles for fear of tearing up the gun. Some of that may be based on horror stories about the poor quality crap coming out of Eastern Europe (Tula and Wold specifically.)

I can buy this stuff for $8.50/box of 50 locally, but I can also buy Blazer Brass for $9.99/box of 50 locally. (About 2¢/rd difference.) My preferred is Federal Champion aluminum-cased 9m at $8.99/box of 50, but it's almost never in stock locally. When it is, I buy as much as I can possibly afford, sometimes that's the entire stock on the shelf.

Anyway, what are your thoughts on this steel-cased ammo from Winchester?

I shoot a lot of the Win USA Fotged steelcase 9mm primarily with my Gen3 Glock 17 and 19. It’s accurate & reliable range ammo and the price is right:

Most people I’ve heard from consider it the worst ammo ever produced and would never buy it again even if it were free. FWIW

Would I load it into any 9mm I own? Never
Is it my first choice for 9mm range ammo? No Way
Does it shoot acceptably well at the range from my Glock 17 & 19? Yes
If I can buy 150 rounds for $11.00 which is what the last batch I bought cost me, would I load up on more of it? You Bet!

I’ve had problems with it working on my CZ scorpion. It hangs up on the mags even in just loading the rds in there.

I haven’t had any problems with it in my Glocks though.

Even Wolf Steel cased is superior. I’d pass unless it’s free, practically free or it’s the only option in the apocalypse.

If you have an Academy where you live Federal Black Pack 115 FMJ (Brass Case) is 250 for $39.99 ($0.16 Round).

Wolf is better quality buy than this crap.

These statements sealed the deal. Especially the last two. I would never buy Wolf or Tula, and if you guys are saying this is worse than that, then I need not bother. I was already on the fence, and you guys just confirmed what I probably already knew. There just isn't enough savings to even bother. The last thing I want to do is trash a $36 magazine or my feed ramp. I'll stick with the Blazer brass.

The rule that that says that the practice ammo I buy must be suitable for use in all of my guns doesn’t apply to me!
