PopVox is great for federal legislation, but is there anything that looks into proposed legislation for all states?
I use an app called "Open States" own my iDevices. Helpful in keeping track of bills and where they are at. Different than popvox, but very useful.

thanks. being constitutional while having my morning constitutional. :)

can't figure something out

do I have to click the little boxes on the right hand side when I write comments ... in order to send the letter.

It's here HERE'S YOUR LETTER!

then little vetical links to facebook email etc do I have to fill that out, OR, just click " FINISHED" on the far right hand side.

Seems I do not get a confirmation of my message(s) being sent, but takes me to a comments section. I'm not into feel-good as much as verifying my letter went out?

Where do I verify my letter went out??

Had seen all of these except for HR619.

According to govtrack, all of the senate bills I've looked at (can't remember the list) have been upgraded to a 13% chance of making it through committee.

That's an above average chance (the average being 12%).

Not entirely surprising, but still not encouraging. :(

POPVOX said:
March 11, 2013: The Senate Judiciary Committee approved the bipartisan Leahy-Collins Stop Illegal Trafficking in Firearms Act (S 54), last week. The bill will now go to the Senate floor for a vote. It's the first legislative vote on a measure related to guns in either the Senate or the House since the Newtown school shooting.

This week, the Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a markup on gun control legislation. They are considering the following bills: The Assault Weapons Ban (S 150); The Protecting Responsible Gun Sellers Act (S 374) and The School Safety Enhancements Act (S 146).

Congress needs to hear from their constituents on this issue at this critical time. Weigh in and POPVOX will deliver your letters to your Members of Congress -- guaranteed.

Just updated after the midterms. There's certain to be more activity after January, but with the House and Senate controlled by different parties there won't be any new 2A legislation, good or bad, that will pass both houses until after the 2020 elections are done. It WILL be valuable to see which newly elected Congresscritters surprise us and support or oppose 2A bills so we understand better what work needs to be done to protect the 2A.

In the meantime, more important will be to track State bills. We'll be dependent upon our members for that.

I have no confidence in the Senate protecting my interests, guns and other, from rapacious House Democrats. There are just too many RINOs, vote swappers, and go along to get along politicians. I have no expectation of the President vetoing a portmanteau bill with anti gun provisions in among so called must-pass legislation.

Almost a year after this post, I feel like it has gotten worse. I didn't think that would be possible.

For 8 years of the Obama administration I was on the edge of my seat, concerned about violations of the 2nd Amendment. Then when Trump was elected I thought I could relax a little. But know, ironically, I'm even more nervous than I was when Obama was POTUS.

POPVOX is run by left-wingers, but honestly you have to use all the tools available, regardless of who made them. Most gun owners do absolutely nothing, so if POPVOX at least gets them to communicate with elected politicians, I'm all for it.

But like you, I'm concerned that this time Republicans will be initiating laws which violate the constitution, and our only hope is the court will over turn them. Scary times indeed.

I wonder if it's because people see the words "common sense" and actually believe it. Sheeple not people that is.

They believe it because they fear being mugged by a street thug, or their child being shot dead in a drive-by shooting by gangbangers.

As such, they want to sdo styuff like banning assault weapons, stop-and-frisk, warrantless searches of public housing projects.

But like almost all people, they do not understand the perspective of others who do not share their lived experiences.

They do not understand the perspective of the young black man who has to work nights in high-crime, inner city neighborhoods to support his family.

They do not understand why he needs to carry an unregistered handgun for protection because the police refuse to protect him.

They do not understand that the reason he can not get a permit nor register his handgun is because, despite meeting all statutory criteria for a handgun permit, the police do not believe having to work late nights in crime-ridden, inner-city neighborhoods to be “good cause” to issue a permit.

They do not understand his fear, on top of being accosted by a street thug or getting caught in a shootout by gangbangers, of being caught with an unregistered handgun by the police, of being treated just like the street thugs and gangbangers he wants to protect himself and his family from, of being incarcerated for possession, of being separated from his family, and suffering from the disabilities felons experience after release from custody.
