First, that's a nice looking rig.
Second, if I could point-shoot my Vaquero accurately, I'd be carrying a SA, too.

I have on occasion carried a revolver.
For a few years had carried a .44 rem mag s&w model 629.
It was a monster that I carried in a shoulder holster.
After a few years it was a 12gauge pump then these days its a new model ruger vaquero 45 Colt birds head.
Is it wierd looking?
Yes!
Is it traditional?
I dont care!
Is it a .45?
Yes!
Can it handle hot loads?
Nope, if I wanted a hot revolver Id a bought a .454 casull.
Am I happy with it?
Yes its a nice belt revolver thats very comfortable to shoot.

P.S. Its more accurate than I can shoot it.

Tell us about those grips! Where can I buy some?

The Ruger on the left has grips from Eagle Grips, the one on the right from Sack Peterson. The pair in the middle are from an unknown source, I had to buy a gun to get them. The remaining two are from Pat Grashorn.

And, another pair from Pat Grashorn:

Nice single actions.

I prefer to carry a rapier for defense, I feel perfectly well armed with a rapier. My opinion based on my feelings will not be changed by any objective performance data, and I will not consider outside viewpoints.

This is the Highroad so I am assured a safe space for my fantasy of actually being Zoro, and teaching all the baddies of the world a lesson with my cat like reflexes and cold steel.

Be sure you don't bite down while you have your tongue in your cheek.

Dude! A single action revolver is way faster from leather to first hit than a rapier. Seriously. So much faster.

Surely you jest sir!

I have supernatural speed, and pride myself on infallible footwork! I don’t need to draw my sword quickly, I will know when ruffians are about and be ready for them.

This thread is primarily about revolvers chambered for the 45 Colt cartridge. It is indeed my favorite and I have five single actions so chambered. Most of the rest of my safe is populated by 45s also, the 45 ACP. Most of them are semi autos but I have one 45 ACP revolver, a custom built blue steel Mountain Gun (the factory never make one in blue). So, like the OP I can say with some assurance I'm not exaggerating, "I like my .45s..."

Don't feed the trolls. ;)

That is a great configuration! If they had come with the XR3 instead of the birdshead, I'd have been all over it.

Trolls you say? Oh dear, such nasty creatures hanging out under bridges, making messes, and accosting travelers. Fortunately they can be dealt with by skewering them with one’s trusty sword, they are not so tough with steel buried in their black greasy guts!

I like my .45's too! The Carryhawk is fast becoming a favorite. Last year I sent this one down the road.....

Also enjoy them Uberti's.

The Schofield's more fun than it has a right to be.

This one's proving to be a good shooter.

For some reason I've never gotten a good picture of my New Frontier.

Nothing quite as beautiful as a SA 45 Colt. Also, my fave round to reload! Excellent photos and examples fellas. Getting me through my day with the flu

Isn't that one of the older, chunkier, Vaqueros that will handle "Ruger Only" loads?

Nope its as I stated its a (new model vaquero) NMV and not rated for Blackhawk type loads used in the Ruger OMV (old model vaquero)
Its stated right in the pamphlet included with the NMV's to not use heavy loads in it.

be aware that Ruger has done a run of Bisley Vaqueros in 45 colt recently with the SMALLER new Vaquero frame. The way to tell is the serial number. A two digit prefix denotes an old (bigger frame) model; a three digit prefix is a NMV (smaller) frame model.
The reason for switching frames had to do with CAS sports.
At the time Davidsons had a pretty good deal on the CAS NMV's and I bought it knowing its limitation.
