What is your opinion, Colt collectors?

How many models of " snake guns" will the Hartford guys have reintroduced by the time 2030 gets here?

And which ones?

How in the hell would anyone have the slightest idea?

I’ll say...... 7! Or maybe they’ll be out of business.

As slow as they are to adjust to market demands and their history of financial problems, lets just see if they can hold it together for the next few years.

Now the gun addict in me hopes for a new snake gun every year.

Cut some slots in the King Cobras rib and do a .38 and .22 and the diamondback is reborn.

Who would have predicted in 2010 that there would any in 2020?

I know I wouldn't have.

Model 19 Smith and Wesson's either.

I figured "service type" revolvers were pretty much dead except for the used market.

A lot of folks around here would probably say they should introduce something in 41 Mag or 44 special even though that would swirl them around the drain even faster.

There is a good chance Colt doesn't make it to 2030.

I came here to say the same thing. Warranty claims on the new Python might put them under before that!

In all seriousness I'm glad Colt is trying to do something, but releasing guns with nostalgia only will take you so far. They need to be innovative to stay alive. They need to do something besides make overpriced revolvers with old names to catch my attention. And I even like revolvers!

Go ask Harley Davidson how making products targeting a single, aging generation is going for them.

Got no dog in this fight but Colt’s has been around a long time. They somehow manage to keep surviving. I think they’ll be around in 2030.
