I'm just curious about what NON GLOCK double stack polymer wonder other members EDC? Let's exclude all flavors of Glocks, hammer fired pistols, steel frame pistols, as well as single stacks...

Pictures of your EDC and carry rig are more than welcome and appreciated.

The Sig 365 with a thumb safety is my favorite. I also have a Ruger LC9c that is a very good pistol although it is single stack. Nothing fancy for a carry rig, one of these have proven to work best for me.

I don't pocket carry, but slide it IWB on my right hip. I've carried that way 10-12 hours at a time while hiking and never had the gun move at all.

I"ve also carried a gun as large as my G19 this way. No reason a non-Glock such as the Smith M&P or Sig 320 Compact or any other gun of about the same size wouldn't work too.

My plastic EDC is a Glock.

But if I couldn't use the Glock I'd use my Beretta APX Centurion. Very good gun and my next favorite poly striker. Ludicrously affordable right now, though holsters can be a challenge. I have a muddy river tactical and it's ... Ok. I think I'd have gone with PJHolster if I did it again.

Runner up is the Walther PPQ or P99AS, but I don't own one, just shoot them occasionally and like them.

M&P is the obvious answer. I have a 2.0 Compact in 9mm that's an awesome pistol and it's the same size as a Glock 19. The new 2.0 Subcompact might be a little nicer to carry. I'd mention the Shield too but I guess it's disqualified as a single stack.

My EDC is an ugly, green Gun That Must Not Be Named. Prior to that I carried an M&P9 in a Galco CM for 3 years.

Your strict criteria limits me to just the one non-G double stack plastic striker that I own, which is curious to me. Springfield XD45 Compact. If you allow single stacks I have more choices and would pick one of them for comfort reasons.

Edit - I do actually own one other non-G double stack plastic striker - Taurus TX22. Just never entered my thoughts as an EDC, being rimfire.

When you exclude *hammer fired* does that exclude DAO as well?

I find the original question intriguing for my own personal parameters as well and found that I (personally) needed to broaden to DAO too.

Todd.

M&P M2.0 Compact 4" .40 S&W in an Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 3.5 IWB.

The Sig P365 9x19mm is not in my rotation because the size of my hands make it difficult for me to run and shoot well. Doesn't make it a bad pistol.

I'm not the OP but it seems any striker fired, double stack that isn't a Glock would qualify.

Walther P99 DAO is striker fired.
Walther P99 AS has a triple action trigger that mimics (or may actually be) DA, Partially Cocked (Glockish) and SA.
Taurus G2 and G3 I believe are Partially Cocked but become DA if the striker is dropped.

The only gun I own that fits your criteria is an XDm 3.9 compact, which my daughter simply loves! It’s a great gun, sized between a G19 and G26, carries 12 in the flush mag and 19 in the extended mag. It’s been pretty much flawless for several thousand rounds and almost 6 years.

I’d also look at the FN509 line personally, but the Walther PPQ and HK VP series are impressive to me.

I’ve no love for the double stack M&P’s personally, but my only experience is with the gen 1’s. I do like the Shields, though, and own several.

YMMV

I don't have a pic with either holster I use but here is a pic of my usual carry. It is a M&P 2.0 40 Compact. I generally carry it either OWB in a Safariland GLS paddle or a WeThePeople IWB holster.

I have a few that I carry IWB (all inexpensive Kydex mold-fit holsters).

My current most carried pistol is a Sig 365. I also occasionally carry a M&P40c (with Storm Lake 357sig conversion barrel), a M&P compact 2.0 and a Ruger SR40c.

When weather permits a jacket, I occasionally carry a full size Beretta APX as for whatever reason I shoot it the best.

Though I'm not regularly carrying it yet, I have a Taurus G2C. I did buy it for carry, but have not yet tested it sufficiently. It's black-slide over ODG grip frame, and will ride in the Kydex IWB holster I have, though I wear IWB holsters between the belt and pants, not inside the pants.

@Snowdog I shoot the APX the best too for whatever reason. So much so that I did away with my single stacks.

I also carry a Beretta APX, but in a 13+1 compact configuration with a 15+1 Centurion reload. If I'm going to be in a crowded area, I'll carry 15+1 in my Compact (basically turns the Compact into a Centurion) with a 21 round backup. I shoot it better and like it better than my M&P 2.0 which has a full Apex competition trigger assembly installed. If not for the APX, I'd probably carry the M&P 2.0 subcompact though...

The APX is a highly underated pistol IMHO...

My wife has a Ruger SR9C that is a really nice size and a great shooter. I would not hesitate to recommend this Ruger to anyone.
That said, I really do not care what other polymer striker fired double stacks are popular with others. My Glock fill the role of EDC for me.

My most often carried is a S&W M&P9 fitted with an Apex Tactical Barrel and FSS trigger.

Just starting to work through the learning curve of having a red dot mounted to become my EDC is a SIG 320...in either Compact or Carry configuration (depending on my mood)... fitted with a GGI action kit and an Apex Tactical FSS trigger bar

Not taking the red dot into consideration, do you like the Sig better than the M&P?
