Any reason there are no xds/shield’s in 10mm?

I was aware of the 40 in a 10 thing, but I would not advise it, not to mention the 40 would probably not have the recoil impulse to 'reliably' make a 10 function properly.;)
I failed to mention that these being semi-autos we are discussing there would probably be problems with magazines if you try and use 40's in a 10!! Not so much 38's in a 357.;)

I think as long as you had a grip large enough to get your whole grip on, it might actually be a relatively comfortable shooter. Something more like the G48 than like the XDs.

Prove it.;) Fire several hundred rounds WITH OUT a malfunction and then let us know how well a 40 will function in a 10.

Why? I don't think anyone is condoning using 40 in a 10mm for defensive purposes. If it functions MOST of the time for cheap range plinking, what does it matter if its 100% reliable?

The entire point was to your 38 to 357 comment, which was a cheaper less recoiling option to shoot. Which is pretty well the same. shooting 38's in a 357 exclusively comes with its own set of problems.

Personally I'd just down load my 10mm to 40 S&W levels for urban carry if this gun existed. As long as the gun functioned...…………….

Correct you are Grasshopper. :D The point being you can't compare apples to oranges. ;) Well I have, as hundreds of thousands of others, been shooting 38's in a 357' WITH NO SIGNIFICANT PROBLEMS FOR DECADES.

G20 shooting .40 S&W is fairly common here. You would have to ask the guys doing it how reliable it is. I own neither a 10mm nor a Glock.

Which 10 are you talking about??? So you consider the use of 40 in a 10 reliable enough to go in harms way with 40 in your 10??

ETA: In a semi-auto handgun, I would not carry 40S&W in a 10mm Auto into "harms way". That said it would not concern me using 40S&W in a 10mm semi-auto to save money to train, practice, and compete and then for excursions into "harms way" switch to the 10mm.

As the title says, I wonder why there are no single stack compact guns in 10mm? If the 45 fits, a 10mm will fit. Is it something mechanical just not doable in that size or is it just not a marketable item?

I would buy the first 4” xds or shield 10 that I saw.

need to start chanting to the manufacturers to give us a carry 10 that isn’t a full steel 1911 or a fat daddy g29.
1st things 1st. Get Springfield to start making the xds in 4 inch barrel. They stopped last year. Only the 3.3 is being made.

Thank you, and you are proving my point. We were talking about the 38/357 compared to the 40/10. The 38 is COMPLETELY reliable/dependable in a 357 so I would take in 'in harms way' with no concerns, but, I like you, would not even consider going in harms way with my 10 stoked with 40 ammo!!;)

40S&W in a 10mm is better than a sharp stick though.

I can't help it. Every time I see this thread title, "Any reason there are no xds/shield’s in 10mm?," I think the same thing.

Because wrist fusion should only be performed by qualified medical professionals.

Because the manufacturers market research doesn't lead them to believe it would be profitable. Simple as that.
