yep I love period correctness :) but you gotta agree the 44 not being period correct but at lest it has gotten people into this fun hobby! ;)
I guess but what bothers me is Pietta could make a configuration that is more authentic for the same money and push them instead but they charge you more if you want a more authentic brass frame. Example the G&G model is quite a bit more money or they could just offer them in 36 caliber also instead of the non authentic 44 caliber brass frame. At least the 36 caliber navy somewhat resembles the very rare example of something that could have been made by Schneider and Glassick.

I don't think you can go wrong with either one. I paid 225 for this one from Dixie, bought a 140 gr 2 cavity VKV mold from Kaido, an 18 dollar holster, plastic powder flask. I still am trying to decide on a roundball mold. This can be pretty cheap to shoot and on the upper end of Sam Colt's original loading instructions and a good tight fitting ball or well designed conical is 'interesting'. .22 short to .38 special size 'jobs' for me so far, a few years in.
I have a steel 1860 ad NMA all Piettas. Still like the idea of the EMF deal, might hold out till summer for that bulldog percussoin 11" 12 gauge double from AGC allegedly 'mid summer'...

Mr.perldog007, the .36 cal Kaido conical is also one of my favorite bullets to shoot. Hard hitting and very accurate (has been prooven to be moreso than roundball) what is your experience with them?
