Brought home the SHield EZ 9mm above for $349 as advertised. I took it out for a test run today. I have to say that it was a very surprising outcome. The gun shot and felt better than expected. The recoil was mild and the pistol was very easy to keep on target. I think I will enjoy it immensely. Usually I am not a fan of the polymer framed pistols. The slide operates easily, There is no gritty feel about it. All is smooth as butter. A box of 50 round through it today. The ammo was American Eagle 115g. No jams or hiccups so far. IMG_4425.JPG

Hows the slide release?? My daughter likes to shoot my 9mm shield but the release button is so crammed in there because of the double spring setup.

It works for me, but then again I am one to pull on the back of the slide instead of trying to do it with my thumb. That's just the way I was taught to properly close the slide when changing the magazine. I can see where it might be difficult for the thumb clickers. I would teach a female to do it by pulling the slide back. Much less physical strength needed. To each his own of course.

Well the shield is smaller and has springs so tough , that you need super human strength to rack the slide or load the magazines....
I joke ......but seriously the shield is stiff beyond words. my -02cents

What is the allure of this gun over a cheaper Shield? Not being a wise guy, just asking.

I bought the 380 Shield EZ for my daughter to learn. It was super easy to operate the slide. II wanted to try the new 9mm version. The 9mm is not quite as easy as the 380, but it beats anything else in 9mm I have tried so far. In addition it was very comfortable to shoot. I am anxious to get in a couple more range trips with it soon.
