An interestingly clear 2nd Amendment resolution for a change.

While I'm a bit conflicted by the rush to *sanctuary zoning* of counties in general, I received this today form my County Supervisor and find it refreshingly clear, on point and succinctly justified.

In light of the Soros/Bloomberg cabal dollars assaulting Arizona - I find this highly encouraging.

He writes:
"The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors voted on a 2nd Amendment Preservation Resolution. I believe this resolution is a reaffirmation of the oaths of office I took in 2012 and 2016 to support the Constitution of the United States, the State of Arizona and the laws of Arizona."

A simple one page affirmation:

A little 99% Republican county, fruit farming and asparagus, just announced they will have no truck with a sanctuary county,,,Made it official with a resolution and all...Only one protester who claimed it would hurt the tourist business,

Refreshing, and a model for others. But tell it to the brainwashed, citified areas of the State which dominate your politics.

As my signature line says,

How can you logically maintain that restrictions on short barreled rifles, silencers, free trade between individuals, ammunition specifications, background checks, et cetera, are not "infringements"?

How about a little strict scrutiny there, SCOTUS? The Second Amendment is probably the shortest Constitutional restriction on government there is, so I think the Founders really meant what the heck they were saying there.

Maricopa County is the nation’s fastest-growing county, home to approximately four and a half million people. (From the Maricopa County webpage).
I don't know if he was talking about Maricopa or some place in is own Texas since we're one of the largest counties in the U.S. and larger than several states.

Too, not even remotely 99% Republican.

I live in Maricopa County and last year sent detailed emails to my senators and representative explaining why "common sense gun laws" won't reduce gun deaths (citing examples from all the recent mass shootings to back up my position), but only hurt law-abiding citizens' ability to defend ourselves. (I actually posted a copy I think in Activism.) McSally (pro-2A) and Sinema (mushy) replied with canned emails but at least they know where I stand. A couple of days ago my weasel representative finally replied, also with a canned email, that said he and I "disagree on this issue", and "most Arizonans" support "common-sense gun laws". I would love to help replace him but ballotopedia says my district is firmly blue. He won by about 4000 votes in 2018. I don't feel like just lying down and rolling over, but not sure just donating to his eventual opponent is gonna accomplish anything.

My state legislators, 1 pro-2A, 2 anti. I am frustrated, a big reason I moved to AZ was that it is consistently ranked the most gun-friendly state in the country. I have joined the Arizona Citizens Defense League but would really like to see all our elected representatives support the 2A.

Did all these antis get in on Bloomberg money? Or what is going on?

We suffer sadly from the transplants out of exceptionally blue zones bringing their cancerous politics with them.
Make no mistake about Sinema... She is SOLIDLY anti-gun but walking on professional egg-shells just now.

I have only recently (last year) joined a very pro-active organization and am quite happy with their efforts and enthusiasms.
You might want to check them out too.

Yes, I did join them, as noted in my post.

But look what happened in VA, Virginia CDL is also very strong but Bloomberg bought all the state offices!
