44 auto mag? 30 carbine? Why not a 357 auto mag of sorts for it since we're on the full custom scope of things? Then it could easily be double stack and still pack a pretty good punch over the 30 carb. Just a little food for thought.
Yes! I wasn’t really wanting a 30 carb. Just was trying think of something about that length. 35 is my favorite caliber so why not a rimless .357 maximum?
Edit: no, maximum would be too much... stick with 357 mag rimless or maybe a 357 bore 9x25 Dillon. .357/10mm magnum?

I want this to be a real pistol. (It’s an air soft based on a Mauser). I love the look of it... single action trigger. Mmmmmm
I’d elongate the magwell a bit since there’s no need to limit the cartridge size to what would fit inside the grip... maybe chamber it in .30 carbine, 44 automag,or some such intermediate round. (Edit: chambered in a rimless .357 magnum)
Oh yeah.. and it would be built by korth or wilson combat and given to me at no cost
10mm magnum

There aren’t a lot of pistols at this point that I just HAVE to have.

I’d Like:

- a beautiful blued retro 1911 with ivory or pretty wood grips and good modern sights. But not a safe queen/target gun. I want it loose enough that it functions with all ammo from match grade to Russian steel case, in a dust storm. Match accuracy would be a plus but as long as I can hit a pop can consistently at 10 yards I’ll be happy.

-a nice Broomhandle C96. I had the pleasure to shoot one once and man, it was a sweetheart in my smallish hand. But do I really want to drop a couple grand? I dunno.

-a nice Mark III Hi Power from the late 80s, early 90s.

-a Beretta PX4 21st century bulletproof tupperware gun with “modern standard capacity,” so I can call it my go-to home defense gun and stop having internal debates with myself about whether, in a bump-in-the-night scenario, I should grab the 1911 with 8 shots of .45, the Beretta 81 with 13 of .32, or the S&W model 10 with “six for sure.”

-a full refinish + full coverage high grade engraving job on my old Colt 1903.

All right, here's mine, in order of unlikelihood that I'll ever own one:

3: AMT Automag III .30 Carbine
Chances of me owning one at some point: Likely
maxresdefault.jpg

Used to shoot often with someone whose dad owned one and would bring it to the range regularly. It's not practical by any measure, but it's probably the most fun you can have on the range without an SOT. Accurate, surprisingly tame recoil, and a four-foot-long basketball-diameter fireball every time you pull the trigger. And though they don't come around too often, when they do they're still within a few overtime hours of my price range...

2: Mateba Autorevolver
Chances of me owning one at some point: Varies from unlikely to almost impossible, depending on whether you're talking about a factory model or the hypothetical updated version I really want.

Actually just about any Mateba gun could go here; they're all ridiculous and cool, but I'll keep it to the autos, since the MTR-8 and the 2006M properly belong in the "revolver" thread. I've always wanted a 6 Unica, but there are so few in the US that when one goes up for sale it typically starts upwards of $3k, which is well beyond my "range toy" limit.

Since this is the "dream gun" thread, I'll point out that an updated 6 Unica with a decocker would be the true dream gun here; with a safe way to decock the gun once it's been fired, it would become a gun I'd actually carry. That pushes it into the realm of fantasy, though, since it doesn't appear Mateba has really been interested in pushing the design forward after Ghisoni passed away...

1: Hudson H9, second generation
Chances of me owning one at some point: Ain't gonna happen, sadly...

(1st gen model pictured)

I have an original H9, and I love shooting it. It's like it was made for me. But unfortunately, there are some serious issues that would have likely been worked out had Hudson stayed in business long enough to produce version 2.0, and that's the gun I really want. Unfortunately now that they're gone, and the design is tied up in bankruptcy proceedings (and will likely remain so for the foreseeable future), it just isn't going to happen.

I've got one of these and a Ruger Blackhawk in .30 Carbine. I loaded some hot 110 Sierra spire points in both and the Automag III handled them OK but they bound up the cylinder on the Ruger.
Lotsa fun!

This is gonna get interesting. Makes me wish I had a five figure bank account to get a ball rolling. This is giving me an itchy trigger finger.

The Dan Wesson DWX looks really nice. Some of the pictures here remind me of guns I'd always wanted, namely the HK P7M8 and the SIG P210.

For the moment, my dream gun is a Glock 19X slimmed down to Glock 43 / 48 width. Keep all other dimensions and features the same. Keep a rail on the dust cover, like the Kahr ST9 has. Glock would also take a page from Shield Arms playbook and make an all metal flush fit 17 rd. mag for it.

I get the ridiculous part; the "cool" part leaves me cold.
Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I'm inordinately drawn to novel solutions to engineering problems, so oddball stuff like that makes up almost the entirety of my "non-user" collection and wishlist.

I wish your opinion of them was more prevalent, though; then I could probably afford one! :D

C0untZer0: Very cool HK handgun you have. A shame there are not twice as many available in the US ($).

This HK C93 would complement your handgun-if Century were conscientious enough to outsource for a price which allows/requires very consistent quality.

$550 when I purchased this

I don't know when you got it but I do recall when they came out and even looking back with 2020 vision (pun intended) I remember them being astoundingly expensive back then. Regardless how little it seems now.

Still, I kind of wish I'd popped for a new one back then or even an *overpriced* surplus when those became available.

Todd.

I remember being in Walmart in Leesville LA, in 1985 and they had a gun counter there. The P7M8 was selling for 50 dollars more than the Beretta 92 and he tried to talk me into getting the Beretta.

Yeah, in 1985 few Americans gun guys knew about HK. That was about the time HK was beginning to make a hard run at the US market. I was a dealer then and HK was offering screaming deals to dealers trying to get a foothold.

Custom 1911 thats 1moa accurate in 45acp with a ridiculously light trigger / fast reset.
Another one in 5.7 (would need to be custom also because coal is longer than 45 or even 10mm
A 1911 that looks like it has a 10 inch slide but its internally suppressed. Give it slab sides like a les baer monolith and lower rail.
And a korth prs 4 inch, but with the adjustable sights off the 5 inch.

Yeah.... one can dream...

HK P7 format scaled up to .45acp. I envision it being beefier in all the right places. Integrated laser.
