Howdy Y’all,

looking for some input/reviews from folks who bought P07/09’s made in the last couple years. I ran a few searches and most info is not recent. Some mentions of issues back around 2014, have they been resolved?

Looking at a new P07

Thank you!

If I remember there were issues with it's frame bulging which were resolved. I had one a couple of years ago. I was happy with it but also have a PCR as well as a number of polymer double stack 9's, so I sold the P07 to put towards another gun.

No reliability or accuracy concerns. Gen 2 fixed all that. I would buy IN PERSON, because the DA trigger can vary from great to horrible. I've seen and worked on them plenty!

Well, I was planning to order one directly from CZ through their first responder program. no way to play with the trigger first if I go that route.

Do the PCR’s or P01’s have the same trigger inconsistencies?

I don't know about trigger inconsistencies, but I install the Ultra Lite kit from Cajun Gun Works in all my metal CZ's, and the triggers with that kit are fantastic. I didn't do a trigger upgrade on my P07 and can't speak to that option.

I got a od green p-07 about a month ago. I have put a little under a thousand rounds through it and it’s remarkably accurate much like my p-01. I think I shoot my p-01 slightly better but the p-07 is certainly no slouch and I find it slightly better to control when shooting.

I also have not had a single hiccup with either of them

I bought a P-09 a couple years ago. Haven't shot it all that much, but have been very pleased with it overall. Would like to pick up a P-07 to consider replacing my original Glock 19. I accidentally loaded some 9mm ammo with small rifle primers, which wouldn't reliably fire in the striker gun, but the CZ hammered them. If not on the first try, the double action second strike would. Good practice for a misfire.

As with other CZ products, the P07 is a very nice pistol. I have CZ 75, CZ P07, and CZ over-under shotgun. All are excellent guns in every way.

When the P07 first came out I looked at one while shopping for a P01 but wasn't all that thrilled with it (the P07 that is). The grip frame felt flimsy as though it was too thin in that area. The checkering seemed to be very sharp and somewhat abrasive. Trigger pull wasn't all that great either; overall I wasn't all that impressed with it.

Fast forward to a couple of years ago when the "new and improved version came out. The gun now had a much more substantial feel to it as if they they re-engineered the polymer frame to make it more rigid. The trigger pull was also much improved and now I was more favorably impressed with it! So much so that when I learned the safety could be converted to carrying Cocked and Locked (and rather easily I might add), I decided to get it! I have been very pleased with my decision!

I appreciate all your feedback. CZ has a pretty good program that I’ve bought shotguns through. Prices are decent. Only issue is you have to order and you get it when you get it, maybe a week, maybe a month or longer, depending on distribution schedules.

CZ P-07 from 2013 has minor bulge (on polymer grip module, not on frame proper) but has not been an issue whatsoever. Excellent factory trigger, and it's been very reliable and durable. The P-09 in 40 S&W from 2016 has been flawless, but the trigger is not as nice OOB. Was my favorite .40 until the SIG P320 came along. Those CZs are keepers.

I don't keep similar guns by need, so I have the VP9. If I didn't have that, I would want a P07. Nice shooter. Had one in the past & miss it.

My p07 had a rather unspectacular trigger. A Cajun kit fixed it, but it wasn't cheap. Let me know if you decide you want a Cajun kit. I may be selling the p07 and will pull the kit before I do.

My beef with the cz's is that my thumbs ride the decocker with my high grip. I'm probably going to wind up with a p10 or a canik tp9. Or a sarsilmaz k12 if they ever release them.....

ALL non custom CZs exhibit large variations in trigger quality. You can install all the llight springs you want, but stacking and gritty triggers are out there. 25% are excellent. 50% need work. 25% are awful. I've been buying and shooting CZs for decades. That is the way it is.

I have 9 CZ models at the moment that I can think of and multiples of some models. All of them good with no issues. Had my P09 to the range thisweek ran great.

I bought a CZ custom shop P07. Very nice trigger and it has fiber optic sights and it's one of the best shooters I own. Something about the grip bothers me a little and I can't figure out exactly what it is, but it's a minor issue. I got it slightly, very slightly used with the box and 5 mags for $600, about $200 less than the same gun new with 2 mags is sold for.

I have long since abandoned any expectation that pistols will come with good triggers OOB. What I want is a trigger that can be made good - a fundamentally good design. Asking for the sear/hammer interface to be made very fine at the factory is apparently too much.

I will say that, based on the ones I have handled, CZ spends more time on the hammer/sear interface on the S2 and TSO lines than most of their models.

Absolutely true. The S2 and others have quite good triggers OTB. SOME of the old PreBs are great, some not, but mostly with CZ the hammer/sear interface and the camming is not optimum to people who like good 1911s.

SIG DOES make a very decent OTB trigger. You tend to pay for it, but I did pick up a P229 ECC a while back under $700 with a VERY nice trigger.
