Went today and got my new Colt Python out of layaway. What a beautiful and smooth firearm. I ordered some new Altamont grips for it that will be here in 3-5 weeks. Plan to take it to the range with the kids on Sunday.

Serial number 119x

Screws all nice and tight. Will be watching. Crown looks good. Can’t wait to try it out!

Went to the range today. 50 rounds of 38 special. 50 of 357 mag.

Flawless. Pleasure to shoot and got lots of attention! This gun has a wide appeal. All kinds wanted to look at it.

Here is my twelve your old shooting it. Gun handles super well. Recoil is super manageable. He loved it.

Did you notice any loosening of the screws?

I did another 100 (reloaded "hot" P+ 38 loads in 357 brass) through mine Saturday, bringing me up to 800 rounds.

What bullet weight were you shooting? Mine seems to really like heavier bullets. I'd been shooting 125's, but recently switched to 158's and my grouping seemed to tighten up.

No screw loosening after. I’m shooting 158s. Will keep ya posted!

Nice gun. I'm looking for one, but am waiting for prices to get down to MSRP. Colt misjudged the demand on this one. Prices I'm seeing are running about 50% over retail.
We've had a handful come in my area, and the shops have been nice enough to sell them exactly at MSRP ($1499 or a dollar more).

Colt needs to get busy. We're waiting.

I'm looking forward to hearing about the accuracy, quality, costumer service in the months ahead. Do they turn Smith wise or Colt wise. Will they shoot themselves out of time? If so, who will tune them.

Sorry to be negative.

Love this gun more and more. Another 100 through it, half 38 half 357.

Ordered some Altamont grips and put on it. They have a really good feel. No screw loosening. No blowing up. No light strikes. It didn’t steal my identity, run away with another man. Nothing. Love love love. A true favorite.
