Fun pistol
If u stay much under 35g, loading would require a very thick wad in order to use the loading lever. Or just load with load stand. 35 also seems to be center hold, at 30 or less I was near a 12:00.

Cool enough. I’ve got three ROAs. Where could I get the barrel and chamber bored out like that on one.Is that possible with the original barrel and cylinder.

It's not bored out. It is a custom barrel and 5 shot cylinder made by Dave Clements. He does line bore the cylinder I believe, so it's perfection. This is not a cheap conversion.

Thought that may be the case. Nice piece.
Wasn’t taking into account the 6 to 5 shot difference.

Malachi:
I agree it was pricey. I didn’t pay any more for the options. I think those optional prices are for customization of a regular Ruger old army. Well not cheap, the pricing was pretty straightforward. It said he hasn’t continued but I guess there are less and less of them to work on

What’s the bore dimensions? The chambers are clearly under 0.490” so I’m wondering if it’s a .480” since Ruger makes one, or if it’s more customized to match the projectile. I think the bullets drop at 0.488” and that’s a big jump to 0.480”.

The price kept me from sending mine. Deepened chambers or a ClassicBallistix cylinder is about as hyped as I can get. I think it could get me into the mild magnum range when using energetic powders.

Dave Clements is a stand-up guy. Spoke with him several times, and bought a pulled ROA barrel from him last year. He's not too far away from me in VA. Surprised he's not making the big bore anymore, but, he is a busy fellow with all the other stuff he does.

Not sure rodwa, .490 work well with a slight shave on seating. From what I understand, the conical is the real improvement. I do like my RB tho!

I would think there would be a market to fully explore the possibilities of the ball and cap design, as shown above, versus just another Civil War era copy.
You’re right. The price is the sticking point... that Clements is nice but damn! That’s a bit too rich for most pistol shooters...
